Will the Switch 2 get a price hike?

  • Yes

  • No

Why would it get hiked? Very recently there has been an announcement from Google about a "6 times more RAM efficient LLM" and RAM prices are already falling quite a bit.

If the RAM prices continue falling, there'll be no point to hiking Switch 2 prices.

G-d damn it I hate that I didn't buy extra 256GB Express SD cards as their prices went up too.

How much are you struggling?

I didn't get one since most games I plan on playing are physical and exclusives, but if memory may be tight even with this I might get one whilst they're sub £50.

I don't have an SD Express card either, I play 90% physical.

I’m sure they will but not right away. This is a company that moved their production to Vietnam just for the US and Canada market to bypass such things. So they make more money on their systems than $ony or Micro$lop would. Still, their cost for making these things after six years has to be a lot lower than before or with the RAM increase, equal. It’s just greed at this point. They want you to own nothing and just subscribe or rent.

A decent chance for it to go up, but Nintendo is in a better position financially with more wiggle room to hold off for longer if needed, what with practically no debt and a plentiful cash reserve. Heck, they recently went and are dropping the price of eShop games in the US to match the price difference in other regions between digital and physical. They certainly didn't have to do this, but they are.

Switch 2 is on a good path, it just needs more exclusives and it'll do well for years to come.

I've pre ordered the Yoshi game as that could be fun and it's the full game on cart.

My bad, it was sold out at a retailer, but Amazon has it.

There's a 512GB on sale right now:

Slightly cheaper via Germany:

Main issue from what I've read is slower write speeds, which should'nt matter AFAIK.

I ended up buying since I've already used up half my storage and won't be surprised to see more game key cards pop up.
