With the release date rapidly approaching for the latest game in the Tomodachi Life series, the game has today received a free demo, dubbed the "Welcome Version". Progress will carry over to the full game when it launches in April, with a hamster costume being available to those who give it a go. It should be noted that this costume is not an exclusive reward. The demo will allow you to create up to three Miis to get a taste of what the game has to offer.

Is there a special Switch 2 Welcome version of the game with better graphics, or only a Switch 1 one?

I did wonder the same, but I don't think there's even a Switch 2 Edition for the base game. Let alone the demo. Seems a missed opportunity.

I loved the demo and I made 3 Miis

However, I don't like they remain in house and you don't make more money and stuff. I know its a demo but that's a gripe for me.

Aside from that, great demo and I am honestly hyped.

Aren't demos supposed to be free?
Yes. It's available for free. Just started the game and what I found is that some gifts are locked which requires the full game; those gifts are what you give to your Mii once they reach another level. There might be more but it doesn't seem like a big issue. Another thing is the wishing well; you can only make a few wishes much like gifts where it is limited, and that's it.

Okay, but why is "free" specified in the title and post?

DO THE CUTE HAPPY DANCE!

I'm using the same terminology as the eShop page, why is it a big deal?

It’s not really a “big deal,” I am just confused as to why demos are specified as “free” when they’ve always been free. Are there paid demos?
