Vampire Crawlers to launch next month on PC, Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series
It's been almost four years since Vampire Survivors came onto the scene and took the roguelike world by storm. Offering an easy to pick up style of gameplay with tens of hours of replayability for a remarkably reasonable price, it's not hard to see why either. It's inspired a genre, with there already being a massive variety of reskins, respins, and 3D adaptations out there to try, with many of them sticking to the affordable price point. But what is next from the company that started this revolution? A roguelike deck builder..? Stay with me here.
Vampire Crawlers takes the familiar items, enemies, and aesthetics from their original hit and thrusts them into an entirely new genre. The game sees you exploring dungeons, collecting cards and power ups as you go. The crux of combat sees you figuring out the best order to play the cards in your hand, with those played in ascending mana order netting you combos that multiply the next's effect.
The Steam page for the game features a short FAQ surrounding its relation to Vampire Survivors, which I've popped below for your convenience:
FAQ said:Is this some sort of sequel to Vampire Survivors?
This is just a spin-off of Vampire Survivors, hopefully the first of a series of spin-offs! The idea is to take some of the accidental core pillars behind the development of VS and to apply them to existing genres. We're talking about accessibility, immediacy, affordability, replayability, lightheartedness, and tons of flashy stuff.
Will you update Vampire Crawlers post-launch like Vampire Survivors?
Yes, we are already planning to keep supporting the game post-launch and we have a thousand ideas about what we could do! Vampire Crawlers is a whole game, with a beginning and an end, so we are going to wait and see what the players say and suggest before choosing what to do post-launch.
You can grab a demo right now on Steam if you find yourself on the fence, or just want to dip your toes in before it launches fully on the 21st of April.

My Steam Deck basically lives for these sorts of games still.
