Pokemon R.O.W.E. "Mega Update" set to release March 26th, features ZA Mega Evolutions, Alpha Pokemon, and more

Pokemon ROWE, an abitious project to expand Pokemon Emerald into a vast open world experience, it set to get its latest update later this month. And it's not a small one! Penned as the Mega Update, it's set to add in the new Mega Evolutions featured in Pokemon Legends ZA, including those that debuted in the DLC. On top of this, you can also expect to see some of the custom Mega Evolutions that were designed for Pokemon Elite Redux, making some genuinely fantastic designs more accessible to a less competitive audience. For those Pokemon that still lack a Mega Evolution, a new mechanic called Delta Boost is also being introduced. By giving a Pokemon the Delta Orb to hold, you'll be able to use the Delta Boost, granting them a 100-point boost to their base stat total, with some Pokemon also gaining new abilities and typing.

Going beyond the Mega Evolution content, the game will also be adding Alpha Pokemon, new abilities, some new outfits, and a bunch of quality of life features and bug fixes. The update will be available to download via Hackdex on its release, allowing you to patch your legally-acquired game directly. You can find a link to the game's page below, as well as an invite for the project's Discord community.

I love that you are now posting rom hacks in the front page more often. Rowe is amazing, super recommended.
I'm hoping you promote "Heart and Soul" next, best hack I've played this decade.
With Heart and Soul I was planning to do a more thorough review/impressions post at some point since I missed the news of it actually releasing. If it gets any major updates though I'll try to get it posted.

Glad you like the ROM hack content though, even if it is basically just Pokemon stuff. I'm just trying to post the things I see, and Pokemon hacks are most of what I keep up to date with lol

I remember them saying having to cut pokemon cries in order to fit everything they wanted.
If they're adding all this stuff now I'm sure it's fair to guess they're adding cries back too, right? Having generic cries defeats a lot of the charm some pokemon has to some people.

ROWE doesn't feel like a cohesive experience. There are way too many features and things added. I feel like the simplicity that made Pokémon appealing has been buried under 100 layers of QoL.

Eh. ROWE was kind of ass. Broken compatibility with real hardware was a dealbreaker for me. I enjoyed Quetzal a lot more because that actually had the cries for Pokemon. Though both hacks arent without their compromises for the sheer amount of data theyre forced to contain.
