I never bought it on Android as I don't remember it going on sale (50% off), but if they did something like it on Switch I would as it is a fun game.

Probably not, ignoring that I don't own an S2.

Something 'simplistic' like a runner game is something I'd want on mobile, but I never bought it because it had always online DRM making it useless for me as 99% of the time I play mobile games it's because I have no internet.

Absolutely not... I love Mario games and own originals of most of them, but that's a mere cash grab in my humble opinion

Same here. It's crazy to me that so many games (mostly due to ads I guess) require internet on a mobile platform.
Unfortunately, on mobile devices buying games DRM-free isn't ideal and most of the time you're always connected to the internet.

Google is apparently going to lock the Android OS on the September 2026 Update, but hopefully they'll back out of that decision.

I guess I should have bought Mario Run when it was 50% off on my Android, thing is I never knew when.

The only appeal of mobile games is that they are easy to whip out when you need to kill a few minutes. There is literally zero reason to whip out your Switch to play a mobile game. Either you need to kill a few minutes and your phone is the closest thing handy for accomplishing that, or if you want to do more serious gaming, you whip out the Switch. There are far, far better games you would be better off playing on the Switch, including Super Mario Wonder, and Super Mario Run isn't made better in any way by having physical controls, it's a single button game.

Nintendo should have made a Switch Mini which would be even more compact than a Lite.

No... It's just New Super Mario Bros. U adapted for swipe controls and vertical screens. NSMBU would be a much better use of your time.

I get it sounds like totally different gameplay, but if you strip the smokescreen, it's pretty much just an adaptation. You can probably get the same effect if you keep holding right in NSMBU and perhaps put black bars on the sides of your screen.

Yes, sell it for 90$ with Amiibo character unlocks for 5$ each.
Make it Nintendos greediest game so their other stuff ends up looking like fantastic deals.

The only reason I'm playing Mario Run these days is because of those Platinum points that you can get for playing the game so that I can grab a "freebie" or two from their store whenever I buy a new controller or accessory. I've never even purchased the full game but I've finished most of the levels by now except for the final boss stages. It was a fun game and still is but it sucks that it doesn't get much new content and that it doesn't have an offline mode.

I wouldn't buy it on Switch (2), it just doesn't feel like it belongs there.

These definitely don't, yet they're still there:

MAR10 is on March 10 so I assume there'll be a discount, I'll be happy with that.

It barely functions as a mobile game, once you beat it there's not really much to do. Maybe if they expanded it and sold it for a low price

I wonder how well a Switch in 3DS XL form factor would've sold.
I'd buy it (despite already owning a Switch). I miss clamshell devices. The portability was just unbeatable and raising the screen up a bit and at an angle makes it more comfortable to play. I would gladly sacrifice removable joycons for a clamshell form factor. I hardly use the things anyway, pro controller all the way whenever I play docked.
As a bonus it would simplify the dock design and the console would look nicer docked. The way the Switch (2) sticks out of the top of the dock always bugged me. I understand it makes it easier to pull out but it just looks weird, unlike any other device that you would normally see in a home and sticks out like a sore thumb, and it's difficult to find a good place for it next to a TV because it can only be used vertically. By comparison the 3DS charging stand was just a flat rectangle that would easily fit in anywhere and they could easily use a similar design for a clamshell Switch dock.

I bought it when it was on sale and I had some fun with it, eventually ran out of things to do

So no, not going to double dip for that lol, 5€ was already a lot to ask for a mobile game but at least there were no ads or MTX and I had my money's worth for a while.

I'd take a free to play sequel tho (but I wouldn't spend a cent on it lol)

I've played nearly every level so no point even buying it whatsoever. It never even went on sale during M4RIO Day or whatever they call it.

The real challenge is to collect all coins and sometimes that's actually hard.
