Capcom shadowdrops both the original Dino Crisis 1 & 2 on Steam with a 50% launch discount
In a surprising turn of events, early this morning Capcom shadowdropped both of their original Dino Crisis titles on Steam.
For many years, fans of the classic Capcom survival horror games like the original Resident Evil trilogy and the original duology of Dino Crisis titles have been clamoring for a remaster, or even a re-release of their beloved classics, and last year both the original RE trilogy and Dino Crisis duology became available in GOG through their Preservation Program.
However, that still left the biggest digital store front for the PC market without those classics, but thankfully, part of those classics are now available on Steam, with Capcom's recent addition of both Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2 to the Steam store front.
Get ready for the pre-historic survival horror classics as Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2 rampage onto Steam in high resolution!

The game takes place in the world of the Cretaceous Period... Dinosaurs attack players in various scenes, including jungles, caves, lakes, and some buildings eroded by plants! Use the characteristics of increased number of weapons to overcome difficult challenges!
The re-releases seem to be on par with GOG's release in terms of features, but with one important caveat...
Both Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2 include the Enigma DRM for the Steam re-release.
As an important note about the DRM, the creator of the Classic Rebirth patches, Gemini, has specified that its patches for both titles can still be used if the player replaces Steam's exe files with those from the SourceNext releases and copying the Classic Rebirth DLL into the game's directory, bypassing the DRM imposed by Capcom for this release. Some other users also noted that removing the xinput.dll file might be needed in order to make Classic Rebirth work properly with controller as well.
If you are interested in purchasing both Dino Crisis titles despite the DRM, or if you want to convert them for Classic Rebirth usage, you can get them on Steam with an exclusive 50% launch discount right now, with the offer ending on February 26th.
