Noob question here, how do I control USB Loader GX with the gamepad (I don't need it to support in-game controls)

I've seen posts asking this question but they all get shot down by people mentioning how if a wii game is launched by USB Loader GX or any other loader, it reverts to default settings and stops emulating the classic controller on the gamepad so they never discuss any further. But I want a way to control USB Loader GX regardless but I don't know how

I don't mind not being able to control the game with the gamepad since I have Wiimotes, but I just want this so I don't have to boot up the wii u, turn on a wiimote to select a game, turn off the wiimote then plug in my gamecube controller. I feel like if I can just get the gamepad to at least launch the games, since I'm primarily using the system for gamecube games, I should be smooth sailing.

There is a wup format/vc inject forwarder for USB loader GX just for your purpose. Like you said it indeed is for people only want to play GC games. Search for it using the word I given to you as I happened to lost mine somewhere

I'm also looking for this solution, an USB Loader GX forwarder only to be able to load and play Nintendont games.
I haven't found anything, let me know if you find something related

As an alternative, you can use any (?) forwarder for Nintendont as its menu lets you use any supported controller, of which there are many, including USB GC adaptors. Some even let you use the GamePad. Pair that with hidtovpad found here, and you don't even need to use the GamePad if you prefer to use the GameCube controller.

Note that hidtovpad isn't the most stable plugin out there and I'm not aware of it having received updates in a long time, but it does work.

Thanks for the comment.
I'm currently using the forwarder for WiiU to Nintendont to play with the gamepad.
But the UI is really ugly and I would like to load it directly from USB Loader if possible

Hello,
It is possible to use USB Loader with the Wii U GamePad. To do this, you need to inject fix94's Open Homebrew Channel with Wii U GamePad emulation and launch USB Loader from there.

I have personally tested this and confirmed that the GamePad works; however, I didn’t launch any titles since I don't use this specific setup for my GameCube library. That said, it’s a solid starting point for configuring USB Loader to run GameCube games, and it should work as expected.
