Hello everyone,
I recently picked up a second hand Wii and followed the guide on wii.guide to mod the wii. However when I try to load a game from USBLoader GX I get the following message:

"An error has occurred.Press the Eject Button, remove the Game Disc, and turn off the power to the console. Please read the Wii operations Manual for further instructions"

Info:
Wii on 4.3U firmware
Guide followed: https://wii.guide
Followed on: Feb 23, 2020
External Hard Drive being used

I know it's not the hard drive as I confirmed that it works on my other wii, that was modded a few years back on USB Loader GX
There is a disc jammed in the drive, can't eject it unless I open the Wii itself

I've been reading that it could be the cIOS but I can't seem to resolve it. Anyone have any ideas?

My syscheck is below

Hello,

given your syscheck report, your CIOS are badly installed (249, 250, 251).
Reinstall your CIOS correctly, like this ==>

IOS 249 [57] (rev 21010, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha bug, NAND access, USB 2.0
IOS 250 [56] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS 251 [58] (rev 21010, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0

With this guide (don't mind the photos on this guide) ==>https://wii.guide/cios.html

Then repost a new syscheck report, for control

To dismantle a wii and have access to the player ==>https://www.sosav.com/guides/game-consoles/nintendo/nintendo-home/wii/

Or just open your syscheck with modmii to accomplish the same thing without having to sift through which apps and wads are necessary (also it works without needing wifi on the wii)

Edit: why is 250 Rev 65535? Should be 21010.

Edit2: modmii will by default suggest d2x v8 final, which is the same as v10 beta 52

Hi How would I go about doing this?

Might be, that the DVD drive is defective. Try replacing it, if you can...
I can attest to experiencing this same issue after having disassembled my Wii in order to do some periodic maintenance such as cleaning the inside of the unit due to long-term use and once I put everything back together what caused my Wii to exhibit this error was the DVD ribbon cable was detached from its latch.

Hi, today i had this and it was a pain in the ass

got a couple Wiis and one of them when i turned it on , the dvd motor never stopped
so reading online i saw you need the dvd drive board connected, else you can´t use the wii to play

so what i did was to desolder both motor wires, formated the wii, installed one of the wii tutotials to soft mod and no luck, nothing worked, no usb loader worked, tried them all, tried many settings changing the cIOS, when a game executed it gave a black screen with

An error has occurred.Press the Eject Button"

with my nand backup i restored, followed another softmod guide, thinking it was the softmod, same error.

the stupid drive had a modchip that went nuts, i removed the modchip and the wires, left the motor cables unsoldered, and now the games are running fine without errors on CFG usb loader..

I'm getting the same error and i just did the softmod with Modmii . The Wii is boot2 compatible so it's old enough to accept burned discs . I go the to disc channel , the game is recognised but when i boot it " An Error has occured . Press the Eject Button..etc.. "

when it launch wii-GAMES (XXX.WBFS) from Usb/SD dev by Ios249/250 ,

Wii motherboard must connect with Wii-Dvd Driver(or dvd driver Pcb).
or else,
it although can launch the wii Game ,but will occur error report screen [From the Game] !
----------------------------
I knew about this problem before, but I forgot about it because I haven't DIYed a console for a long time. This month, I spent nearly a month to solve this problem. I even learned how to create a new NAND.BIN, flash the OTP key information, restore the new NAND system firmware to the WII motherboard, and try to replace the NAND chip on the WII motherboard... In the end, all failed. The problem still exists. I also found posts about this topic, including this post. Many people in these posts also raised this problem, but none of them could solve it. Finally, I suddenly remembered the reason. I specially posted it here to remind people who encounter the same problem so that they don't have to take detours again.

Were you able to fix it? I disconnected everything from the DVD board, including the motors, except for the two essential cables, but nothing works. It worked only once, and when I exited and tried another game, the problem returned. It only happens with Wii games.

Sorry I didn't see this until now.

Backup disks will load banners in the disk channel so long as your system menu ios is patched (and you have olf/capable hardware). But when u try and launch them they will fail. You can get around this by setting up priiloader to use a dif ios for this (like 249), although you may need to revert to v0.9.1 as 10.0.0 has this feature not working at the moment.

Alternatively u could launch/rip the disk using homebrew like usbloader gx or neogamma.

Darkcorp/cioscorp would also probably get this working but is not recommended as it could interfere with lots of other things.
