Misc What would convince you to get a Switch 2?

What games you got?
I couldn't really afford much. I got BOTW again on Switch 1 so I could get the free upgrade to Switch 2 edition, I already had TOTK. So the only other game I got was Mario Kart World. I just bought Galaxy 1 + 2 as well. Maybe I should have got Bananza instead..

More new/serious game and fast....
Give us an alternative to key card...
Stop the heavy price madness....
Always the same things...
I'm specially tired of hearing "port number2051 (INSERT NAME HERE) will arrive soon on switch 2" and that's all...
Even if the port in question is good, you have good memories of the game and it's well adapted to undocked play , etc
It can't be the "main line" of a new console and I think this generation of console (Switch 2 and PS5) are really stuck in this bad routine....
They don't make gamers dream enough anymore, they don't make us feel any big progression in terms of gameplay originality or artistic creation. It's always the same sad show about "performance" and "which version should you choose? " now. If my switch 2 is really just about that, it will clearly be my last console.

1. A new old-style Zelda
2. Remake of Oracle of ages/seasons
3. A sequel to link to the past or Ocarina of time - Or Windwaker (Link between worlds got me to buy a 3DS)
4. Maybe a new Mario
5. CFW

I don't really care about the console. It's the games that are important, and I don't see any in the horizon that I want to play.
I have enough Switch 1 games that I haven't played yet to keep me occupied another year or two.

Even if I got one for free, I'd probably sell it right away. Their current stance towards consumers is not worth supporting.
I'm not interested in any games at their current asking prices, much less in key cards and overpriced peripherals locked behind subscription services.

I'd rather spend that money in the secondhand market, on older consoles and physical carts that I get to own, keep, mod and enjoy as I want, indefinitely.

Switch 2 is like a semi-upgrade, better hardware, but the screen and battery are inferior to the NS1 OLED.

It's inevitable we'll see NS2 OLED and I'll definitely want one, but I don't mind selling my launch NS2 as I don't really use it and I want one with a better screen.
For what it's worth, battery life is excellent with Switch BC. It's not really fair to compare battery life of Switch playing Switch games vs Switch 2 playing Switch 2 games because Switch 2 games are way more demanding and run at a higher resolution.

I don't like the bezels on the Switch 2. I swear, they only design it with bezels so that they can release an OLED model with smaller bezels/bigger screen later and still use the same Joycons and dock. It's just so annoying that they don't put a bigger screen in it when they could.

How much battery life are you getting on BC?

I was playing a VN which my OLED can play for 7-7.5 hours on one charge, but Switch 2 couldn't get past the 4 hour mark.

I think around 4 hours regardless of the game played, which doesn't seem like that much but usually gets me through a play session, whereas the 2.5 hrs (max) I'm used to is just too short.

7 hours is impressive. But how much does it get in 3D games?

I think it's around 5.5h in MK8D and 4.5h in TotK on a full charge on my OLED - which I guess is enough for games, but I definitely want better when I'm in a VN as it's like watching a movie. Normal 2D games [platformers, etc.] get 6 or 6.5h.

There's really no reason for NS2 to have those ugly bezzels, except for the eventual NS2 OLED.

For me, buying Switch 2 was just a curiosity. I had switch games via emulations but for the games that I cannot emulate well (apparently only Switch Sprots, TOTK and Bayonetta 3), I decided to give them a try on Switch 2. Also, I was not in mindset to wait a lot for hacked switch 2. I wanted to try playing DKB, Kirby with DLC, MKW and similar. So I bought Switch 2. But now when I have realized how pathetic the digital game discounts on Nintendo eShop are, I am regretting my purchase.
I have other powerful systems to play 3rd party games so I am left with little to no incentive to own Switch 2. Also, selling is not an option cause no one is buying used Switch 2 and are lowballing the price like literally 30-40% is what they are expecting.
