Dear davidgf. I love Superfw.

Goomba Color was updated in 2019.
https://www.dwedit.org/gba/goombacolor.php

Can we get this version in Superfw?

Edit. Silly me! Nice website. I found all the documentation about: https://github.com/EvilJagaGenius/jagoombacolor

My bad!

Ps. actually EXCELLENT website, thanks!

Feature requests:

-Remember and start in same folder and highlighted on same rom after reset/reboot.
-Instead of recents, make a favorite list, and allow users to favorite games via pushing select on the game.

During testing, I read the documentation about emulators. In build 11, it doesn't work for NES, even though I followed your guide strictly. But maybe that functionality isn't public yet.

Hey there! Yeah sorry, some stuff is not yet in the latest version, I will upload a new beta version in a couple hours.

Ok just uploaded a new release (v0.12). The changelog is something along the lines of:

Finised some WIP stuff (i.e savestates) and other fixes
Added emulator support (besides GBC): NES, GameGear, etc.
Minor changes on file type detection, better and faster file sorting, etc.
Faster DLDI writes with faster CRC16 (ie faster DS mode)
Proper multilanguage support + some initial translations (still WIP)
Patch fixes for some games (ie. Final Fantasy)
Per-game setting saving as well as RTC config.

The translations are still WIP and they will be buggy, we are ironing them out at the moment.

Game gear and SMS games have a distorted screen with a bunch of random colored pixels. Could not get any of the games to launch. Do I need a bios file somewhere? Menu for emulator works.

This looks really crazy, im testing and all works 1000% better than using original super card firmware (Obviously there are some uncompatible things already but so much less), the option to use +2gb micro sd is really god, i want to collaborate with the proyect, when is going to be available github to make pull requests? this looks so promising. At least i want to help with spanish translation, because is incomplete, nothing disturbs, but have some fails. Also i think documentantion, need to be extended. But to start is really nice, i tryed before scwf but it wasnt working nothing, so i didnt try to install the firmware directly with scare to broke my cart, but when i tested this firmware it worked perfect at the first launch without install firmware, then i choosed to install and unlock 2+gb, the better choice in my life. Do you have any discord where you work at this?

I also noticed a great performance boost with almost no lag/stuttering. Only one place in a game (Bruce Lee: Return of the Legend) still lagging a bit but i think thats the cards performance limit. Also Games are loading now with no white screen and run correctly (i had to switch on some games every time to Patch engine manually before starting). it's unbelievable what you have achieved so far with that Card👍

I'm new here on the site, and this week I've been learning how to install and use SuperFW. I really liked the program and tested version 0.12. I tested it using Pokémon Emerald. It saves normally, but when I tried to trade Pokémon, it froze when saving after the trade. Both Game Boys I used have SuperFW version 0.12. Why did this happen? I appreciate any help in advance.

I'm not convinced that it will work, but just in case. Can you try again with a different Patch mode?

(I had some issues on this game as well, that were solved when changing the patch mode to "Built-in database". But not the type of issue you described)

This is outstanding work.
Is it possible now to play Emerald without losing the save file post Elite 4?

Hey there!
Let's keep the discussion positive please :)
I also have an AGB (actually two) and one of them was having issues, the other not as much, but sometimes would act up.
My suspicion aside from unmantained contacts in the bus, is probably something related to the design. I suspect the AGB has a slightly larger capacitance or input/output impedance. That won't explain why such a big difference exists tho. The NDS is the most reliable, all supercard work fine on NDS.

Perhaps we should try to gather info on issues, would you guys mind reporting, for each supercard cart:
- What memory chip it has (perhaps a picture would be better if you don't know which chip it is).
- What issues you have (or don't have). Each device where it works and where it doesn't. A pic can also help.

It could well be that some SDRAM chips are better than others and less prone to issues with AGB devices. I suspect better speed grading and/or output impedance.

Thank you!

AGS-001 + HiSpeedido IPS kit - SuperFW works fine.
ABG-001 - 32 pin + HiSpeedido IPS Kit (Purple) - SuperFW shows garbled mess in list of files with 32gb MicroSD card, 2gb MicroSD
ABG-001 - 40 pin + HiSpeedido IPS Kit (Green) - SuperFW shows garbled mess in list of files with 32gb MicroSD card, 2gb MicroSD

SuperCard details: Flash device ID: 000422b9

Unfortunately the backup I attempted to make was corrupted, and I ended up with a 16kb file instead of 512kb, so I can't test it with OFW.

2 days testing this are results, and didnt end, obvious im going to add more platforms more games, but this was the first test to look this firmware if is really better. Roms, hackroms, homebrew games, licenced and unlicenced games.

Original firmware vs Super firmware
------------------------ ----------------------
Gba: 50/173 (28,9%) 168/173 (97,10%)
Gbc: 20/54 (37,03%) 53/54 (98,14%)
Gb: 95/107 (88,78%) 105/107 (98,13%)

So if your question is if this is better or no, is answered with table. The work is awesome and incredible, only slowing like 5 gba games i have, and other 5 not working but im sure are fixable for oneself even the gbc and 2 gb games with a little time of patching. It really deserved risk my cart (obvious make first your flash backup), now using 64gb micro sdhc class 10 can notice a little boost on games and load times is really confortable. More space, more speed, more compatibility, what more want?

The docs/website is at https://superfw.davidgf.net/
I noticed the docs repo URL was broken, so just for reference, it's https://github.com/davidgfnet/superfw-docs
Feel free to contribute improvements to the documentation in the form of PRs :)
Im not really sure if i can extend only myself documentation, but i will try. In what i know i can help is giving more desing themes (I made different themes for custom firmwares for these chinese handled consoles) and improve spanish translation, maybe i can help in other areas too testing even giving any fix solution for specific games/formats. Exicted waiting the github repo to contribute!

When trying to play any GG/SMS or SG-1000 games. Tried version 2.5 as well.
