if you are refering to it having the kaikaze no it uses the adapter and they are working fine the pokemon switch i had upgraded because the original install was not working corecctly most likly due to the fact i dropped it and posiibly knocked the dat0 adapter out of alighnment but its fixed now and working great i do however understand why you would recommend the permanent dat0 via kamikaze because when done correctly you no longer have to worry about the dat0 misallighnment issues for me though i am happy with what i have kamikaze is to risky imo but thank you for the advice it does make sense

The adapter will eventually fail I guarantee you on that.

When? I did my oled in 2021 and it's still going. I try to treat my equipment well but it does travel regularly.

Does depend what chip was used I have a Hwfly that work fine since I bought it, for chip like instinct NX that use anchor 4 points it is bound to get loose and the dat0 will eventually stop working since it happened to me. You are bullshitting that you hacked your OLED in 2021, when the OLED came out October 2021.

Apologies, I was going by the purchase date of my HWFLY kit. 2021 was the lite kit that I ordered intending to use it for the OLED but I didn't get a chance before the OLED specific HWFLY became available with the corner adapter. So that order was March of 2022. I guess that means my corner adapter has been going for around three years now.

what about the instinct v6s does it use the same adapter and have the same problem im asking because i recently upgraded to it on my pokemon switch i have a white oled that has hw picofy rp2040 i have had no problems with it and so far my pokemon oled is fine with the new chip my understanding was with the adapter you need to be extra careful not to drop your switch because that is what can displace the adapter otherwise if you are careful you are fine unless there is another reason they fail that i dont know about

V6s come with the 4 points anchor for dat0, hwfly rp2040 also come with the 4 points anchor. The anchor will eventually come loose though.

is Kamikaze hardmod, the Picofly chip or are they two separate things?
Kamikaze is a style of flight where the pilots crash into high value targets.

In reference to the OLED Switch, it refers to a method of connecting to the DAT0 pin of the EMMC. All the modchips need a connection to DAT0 to do their job. There are two primary methods to do this on an OLED Switch, an adapter that slides under the chip and digging through the motherboard to reach a DAT0 trace on layer three. It has been dubbed "kamikaze" as it is highly risky and plenty of people have messed it up while trying.

A less used method is to remove the EMMC from the board, get a connection to the DAT0 pin, and then put the EMMC back on.

Using the flex adapter is the safest and quickest method, but it can have problems as it is simply a pressure fit on the pin. The kamikaze is the most secure as it has a wire soldered to the trace but there is a high risk involved. Removing the EMMC and replacing it is secure like the kamikaze, but is probably the most time consuming and the risk falls inbetween the other two methods as you have to keep from overheating the EMMC during removal and re-install.

Just wait till switch 2 is released and maybe if you’re lucky someone had a way to do this soft mod without a chip. If you’re unlucky this soft mod will happen years later, hey just hope a bunch of soft mods happen later. The switch will eventually maybe be the next Wii U. Someone randomly finds something.
