I'm sick of bands and game devs releasing music on vinyl but not on CDs.

Second, I think most companies only go with vinyl because buying physical media and buying vinyl is more of a novelty or for collecting. Most people who listen to music nowadays do so through streaming services, thus it's not really profitable to sell something less bought, like CDs.

Vinyl is really the only worthwhile physical media to have when it comes to music. If i wanna play music in my car I just use android auto.

I never heard about this. Got any example of this?
My favorite band, Jazz Emu only released the album "Digital Spool" in this weird yellow vinyl. Rain World, yes, rain world, the game with the least music possible, released their songs in a vinyl but not cd.

I wouldn't know, Just pirated music movie games, I've lost all morals. I used to have hundreds of cds, hundreds of dvds and hundreds of games.

Not completely true on games though I buy my PS5 games.

But vinyl still has horrible audio quality

Not horrible, just not as good as CD. Depending on the record the quality loss may not even be that noticeable, so it should sound just fine most of the time, unless it's something faster like black metal or grindcore, where the faster songs will mean the vinyl has more grooves that are tightly packed together, which means the needle will have a harder time going through every single individual groove thus causing higher loss of quality.

It's less of an issue nowadays, but historically speaking, CDs have not been immune from having horrible audio quality either as they got caught up in the loudness war.

I had a long tangent written out about CDs and vinyl and tapes that I just deleted. IMO CD sucks, if the music is available digitally get it digital and buy a different piece of physical merch. Or get a turntable, vinyl collecting and listening is a fun hobby and a lovely way to experience music in a largely post-physical world!

I was planning on starting a vinyl collection some time ago, but vinyls are made of PVC which is carcinogenic, and apparently every time the needle goes over the vinyl it scratches it, releassing some of the PVC into the air, so I changed my mind. But out of curiosity I just did a bit of searching and turns out CDs also contain substances that may cause cancer, so I guess it's more of a precaution and shouldn't be a problem, unless you lick your vinyls every day or if they're burning and you inhale the fumes.

The only people who listen to vinyl are on those cheap Crosley turntables with a stylus that will damage records if you play them multiple times. Something like an Audio-Technica AT-LP120 is much better at a reasonable price than cheap Chinese garbage. Vinyl also sounds better, too, if you've got the proper equipment and have maintained them well. Since I don't have my old vinyl turntable anymore, I still have CDs that are a lot simpler to use than anything.

What are CDs? Like, vinyl/8 track or nothing.
Compact Discs are different to vinyl and 8-track.
