Hello,

@ploggy As everybody knows I really want to have a Yabause core for Wii U too ! I hope we can have that one day !

I tried to make the Wii U GamePad controller compatible with Yabause but without success T. T

Meanwhile I play Yabause on Wii with the vWii of Wii U and Wiimote or classic controller... I use sign_c2w_patcher a homebrew for Wii U and I can play 4 games without too much problem : Alien Trilogy ; Clockwork Knight ; Keio Flying Squadron 2 ; Saturn Bomberman.

Setting for these games (except for Saturn Bomberman) :
With Bios (Now Without).
Set Timing Parameters : Decline Number 15
Divide Number for Clock : 1

Setting for Saturn Bomberman :
Carbridge : none (so no problem with the sound).
With Bios (Now Without).
Set Timing Parameters : Smpc Parametral Timing : 1900
Smpc Other Timing : 1200
Decline Number : 7
Divide Number for clock : 4

@Zeox-gamer if you know best setting pameters I'm interest to know that ^^.

Panzer dragoon ; Daytona USA and Sega Rally are too slow... Golden axe the duel have just one problem : I can use an attack (by exemple I can use the sword with the character Milon Flare).

I really hope that one day we can play these directly with the Wii U and his GamePad (and have the option to play with 9 other humain player).
for pefect bomberman a 60 fps on yabause wii using this config friend
Bomberman saturn USA need start bios perfect
smpc 3200
smpc 1200
decliner 4
divide clock 8
and skip frames using overclocking on the Wiiu this game will run perfectly

castlevania symphony of the night no bios start
smpc 3200
smpc 1200
decliner 4
divide clock 9
using a frame skip using a dive clock 8 this game work a full speed but the objects in the scenes distort when we jump or seem to move out of place. To make it playable, change the divide clock to 9. It's a little slow, but it solves the problem using a divide clock 8
Megaman x 4 no bios start
smpc 3200
smpc 1200
decliner 2
divide clock 2
using a frame skip this method fixed menus but rum slowly i'm tried more tests

I discovered that we can use clock divide and decline to recalculate the frame skip, so decline 4 with clock 8 is equal to 3 fps skipped per second when using frame skip and when you increase the click to 9 it is equal to 2 frameskip

I'll post the WiiU Saturn Core for you guys to mess with but temper your expectations lol
This is as far as I can take it, I cant code at all, I was lucky to even get it to compile :D

But if anyone can get rid of the weird blue hue we will at least have a decent start point if in the future WiiU HB gets OpenGL support or a Saturn PPC JIT :)

Here's the Saturn Core... Extract to your Retroarch folder.. Delete the core_info.cache file in the info folder after you've transferred the files. :)

Your going to need a Saturn Bios, placed in the Retroarch/cores/system folder named saturn_bios.bin (it says its optional but may as well put it in there) :)

It's a begining, I'm trying Saturn Bomberman, I have 7 fps, I'll try to have much ^^, it's fantastic to play with the Wii U GamePad ^^. Thank you very much ^^. I'll say if I can have much fps or something else ^^.

It's possible to enable frameskip but although it does increase the frames quite a bit it will of course stutter like crazy lol
Yeah, hopefully someone can do something with it :)

@ploggy For the moment I've got 27 fps, as you said I put frameskip and I put Monitor index 3263388 it's not the highest number... I don't know what's Monitor index but it seems to increas fps... Tomorrow I'll try again for more fps ^^.

Yes, hopefully someone can do something ^^.

I've made an issue on the Yabause Git about the blue screen to see if anyone has any ideas.

@ploggy the sound is definitely much better now on the latest Unai build. Is the stuttering on the games related maybe to frameskip?
Sound stutter? you may get the odd pop when the Dynarec is caching but there shouldn't be any stutter?
Is this something your seeing when using the Core? or is it in the Video?
If your getting constant stutter, make sure you have adjusted the Audio Sample Rate in Retroarch's Audio>Output settings to 44100 before loading your PS1 game. :)

Was definitely judging by your video. I really haven’t had the time to fire it up yet.
How can I explain it? It’s like hiccups and crackling in the music. Mostly observed on the Gex and R-type playthrough.

Yea, I believe it's the Dynarec caching, both those games definitely can run over fullspeed.
Or It could be to do with Threaded Rendering.. It can be a big help or a big hinderance depending on the game.

Yeah, sporadic hiccups are something that's not addressed. It annoys me too. If something's taking too long (recompiling?) and no new data is fed to audio system then it happens. If the audio seems cracking all the time, try with and without threaded rendering.

Just realised I didn't post the latest WIP PS1 build with Fast Mutexes :P
The build here corresponds to what you see in the video above please check it out!

As always delete you core_info.cache file from the Core/info folder after you've transferred the files from the zip ;)
Also when you load the Core make sure to set the Sample Rate to 44100 Hz before you load your PS1 game otherwise you will get audio issues..

I'm starting to give up.
I downloaded ScummVM for Wii U. I just want to play Gabriel Knight Sins of the fathers.
Put it into Retroarch\roms\ScummVM\
When trying to load the game in ScummVM it asks me if I want to load the DOS or Windows version. Regardless which ersion I chose I just get a black screen.
What the heck is going on?
Also why the freaking devil is the main theme black and green? I can't change it to something that doesnt make my eyes bleed.

Don't give up ;) The black screen is probably due to slow SD read speeds, if you waiting 5 mins it would probably boot.
My SD card is atrocious so I didn't even bother to try and wait it out :P But I edited the ScummVM file in the system folder to change the Games path from SD to USB and the game booted within a min! So it does work.. just takes a few secs :)

But with the Official ScummVM Core the game will stutter quite badly, but you can use @vrda 's modified ScummVM Core which will play the Audio just fine.

Once extracted..
Load up the new ScummVM Core.
Go into the settings>Audio>Output: change the Audio Driver to AXPro and change the Output Rate to 44100 :)

Now Start the ScummVM Core and load your game.. give it a min then the game should boot :)

So it is possible to load the game off USB instead of SD? How do you do that?

It is, you just have to manually edit the file, this will likely get fixed in the future so you can navigate each device from the UI

For now you'll have to edit the ScummVM.ini ^^^ good news is because you've already attempted to load the game from SD the path is already in the ScummVM.ini
1716575398635.png

You just need to swap the path from SD to USB (then put you game on a USB drive with the same path ;) )
You may want to change the browser_lastpath path to usb too just to be safe :)
Then just save the modified file and load up the game and see if it all worked :)

How did you transfer the files to your USB card? My USB card is formatted for Wii U and I can’t access it from my PC.

Use a Fat32 usb drive.. It won't be compatible with a WiiU formatted drive..

Also its possible to get rid of that black and green UI :P
Download the ScummVM files from the Online Updater>Core System Files Downloader.. That will give you the "normal UI" ;)

I've already mentioned how to set up the theme in https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-get-scummvm-on-wii-u-home-screen.644067/#post-10420675
Did you try to download the scummvm.zip for the latest version and extract it where it's expected ?
Post automatically merged:

For me it takes two minutes and 15 seconds to load it off class 10 sd card fat32 formatted with 64 Kb sector size. The audio seems to work fine. This game also supports MT32, to enable it you'll have to close the game and in the launcher click "Game options" and in "Audio" tab choose the MT32 emulator. You'll also need the required roms in the extra directory for this.
You'll be able to enjoy this game just fine on WiiU, just be patient while setting it all up ;)
