uhh most of pantera and metallicas releases were from the 90s

Around half of Pantera is in the 80's

* Metal Magic (1983)
* Projects in the Jungle (1984)
* I Am the Night (1985)
* Power Metal (1988)
* Cowboys from Hell (1990)
* Vulgar Display of Power (1992)
* Far Beyond Driven (1994)
* The Great Southern Trendkill (1996)
* Reinventing the Steel (2000)

Load, Reload,St Anger I don't consider Metallica(They kinda suck except for a couple songs). Also

# 1983: Kill 'Em All
# 1984: Ride the Lightning
# 1986: Master of Puppets
# 1988: ...And Justice for All
# 1991: Metallica
# 1996: Load
# 1997: ReLoad
# 2003: St. Anger

Thats about half as well. All the good stuff is in the 80s.Only good album in the 90's is the self titled ablum

Seventies handsdown. I was forced to listen to all the music that was popular in the Netherlands in the nineties through friends and school..and most of it is pretty damn awful. Though of course, every decade has his little gems.

Personally I loved the 30's gangaster "you run your mouth and I run my buisness" mafia music, but I grew up with listening to a man who couldn't keeps his hands off his balls, so I have to choose 90's.

I voted 60's, because for example:

Beatles, Rolling Stones, Simon & Garfunkel, The Animals, Lovin' Spoonful, Chordettes, Moody Blues, The Monkees, The Beach Boys, The Turtles, The Mama's and the Papa's

Followed by the 80's for me.

All of Pantera's good stuff (Cowboys from Hell on) is from the 90s. And you can't just say that a band's last three albums are "not them," I mean if it was one shit album sandwiched in between two good ones, maybe that's acceptable, but three in a row and they haven't had a good one since? That's just stupid.

Also, metalhead here but I love The Beatles and Led Zeppelin, The Who, ect., so I can't really choose one decade, I'd have to say late 60s though the 80s and to some extent the 90s (Pantera, Nirvana, Tool, ect). Slayer, Exodus, Black Sabbath w/Dio, and many other groundbreaking metal arose in the 80s so that might be the winrar.

Tupac Shukur, Nasir Jones, B.I.G., Big L, Later career of Rakim (although not as good as before).

However, the 80's win because they have Rick Astley.

I voted for 90s. The Alternative artists that came out during that time were just great stuff (come back, Stabbing Westward!!).

Yeah that's true it all comes down to certain tastes and opinions in the end anyway... 90's did have some awesome hiphop

I don't think we'll be able to call any decade the definite best, as music is very subjective and at times, personal. I really couldn't say, every decade has its great bands, and i'm just happy i can pick and choose without being blinkered by only listeninng to current stuff, not to say there isn't a shit-ton to good music coming out all the time, cus there is.
Finding it is the problem.

All decades had awesome music. I just voted 60s for pink floyd and the aforementioned (beatles, stones, jimi hendrix and so on), but each decade has its genies. The seventies had Bob Marley, the eighties had Queen, and the Nineties had System of a Down.
Although, I'd revise my vote now. I'd sayt the 00's, you know why?
The noughties have 500 g hard disks for 99 bucks
wink.gif
That's the best musical achievement for me!

That's no hiphop. Hiphop are the roots back in the 70's and 80's. The 90's was full of gangster rap.
