My computer is pretty much broken and really slow. So I was wondering if there is a home brew app on the Wii or a way to download roms straight from the wii without using the computer.

Is there any reason on why you want to do that?

Yes but mods hid the tutorial in the ROMS Forum.

Are you a staff member though?

Don't you have an Android phone or something? You could download to it and then transfer to the SD/USB.

Even if that option is available, I prefer to manually download an ISO rather than what's available on that store.

I remember having used some homebrew program to literally download things on my wii using direct links pasted in a .txt file.

However the best way I could think of for this would be to set up some kind of smb or ftp bridge to the computer and just stream stuff from it to the wii.
It might not be the greatest idea but if that saves the 2 minutes for taking the SD card off the Wii and copy stuff over, I guess that is better than nothing.

To be honest… this is the only answer that makes sense:
I know this isn't the answer you want to hear, but there is the option of using USB Loader GX & dumping an original disc from there.
Considering the poor network speed (and poor networking stability) of the Wii, downloading Wii/GC games right from the console would be an appropriate punishment for pirating stuff.
For retro ROMs it doesn't matter much and could potentially save time not having to remove SD/USB. But then again… pirates usually download full no-intro sets and just extract them to SD once.

My computer is pretty much broken and really slow.
If the computer downloads slower than a Wii and is broken, it is time for a newer computer. Literally a 10+ year old PC will do pretty much everything and can probably be found for free (or almost free).
