    This is really just a personal opinion. I would prefer a clean grid layout over anything (good overview, quick navigation, looks good), i think i would go with the current black background with white font over a fancy coverflow only option. I just like the idea of staying as natural as possible...

    Well they are 99% identical. Only thing you have is native gc support on the original wiis. Since nintendont does support the gc-controller-adapter thats not really a problem. The only thing you can do better with the original wii (correct me if im wrong i actually dont own a wii) is boot...

    I made some quick and dirty mockup of a gui. So i would prefer some simple grid like the original menu of the wiiu for the tv screen, something like this. (ofc some shadows better bg and well maybe some real designer could do this :P) You could use the original icons that we have in the meta...

    For me it seems like being extremely fast works best. I do have self hosting setup however, with 2 links on the index site 1 to kernal payload and 1 to loadiine payload). So opening the browser as fast as possible after booting and instantly clicking on the links seems to gives the best results...
