    Hacking [APP] Hacks.ini Creator

I barely come around here anymore and just happened upon this post. I don't know what the prob is though. Works fine for me, but it's really not an important option. You can just leave it disabled until you actually want to use it.

Hacking NOOB PARADISE - ask away

Sounds like a possible bad burn to me. I don't think region issues lead to DREs.

Your problem is when you open a command prompt, it's not in the directory where your files are. So you're trying to run that command on files that aren't there. What I suggest to you since you're not used to working with the command prompt... 1. make sure your system is showing file extensions...

    Hacking Burn speed

my 2 cents on the matter... There is no 'perfect' write speed. It just depends on your drive/media combination. You just have to do some experimenting to find that 'sweet spot'. When someone says to burn at 2x no matter what, they are wrong, that just may be what works for them, and could...

Hacking Marcan's opinion about the Wii's software architecture.

The friend code system is ridiculous. If it was just 1 code then ok, fine, but a different code for every damn game. WTF are you thinking. It's like having my telephone number change depending on what TV channel I'm watching. If I was a heavy online gamer, chances are, I would not own one. The...

There's probably no way you're going to be able to downgrade to 1.0. I don't think Ninty has that sysmenu on their update servers. Pretty sure I remember reading that on wiibrew.org but the site is down again and I can't go verify (they should get a new host).

    Hacking Preloader 0.28, finally out!

ATD only deletes entire titles. Not something you want to do with the system menu. Not that ATD would let you anyway, believe it has protections in place to outright refuse deleting sysmenu and it's IOS. FTPii *might* let you. I tried copying a file to NAND with FTPii and it wouldn't let me...

    Hacking Preloader 0.28, finally out!

Don't you mean sysmenu 290? v289 is NTSC aka 3.2u The IOS reloading hack forces the disc channel to load everything with cIOS249.

This is no longer the case. 0.28 is readily available for direct install. Plus the 'code' is a lot simpler, just press 1.

    Hacking GameCube Backup Launcher woes

It's a cIOS problem. He also has a longer list of error codes in that post.

Topic and idea good? Yes Do I think it would work? not 100% but hopefully cut down on the posts. Stickied? We should probably review the ones that are up there. We could remove the twilight hack one, loader threads, and put links to them in Hadrian's list of guides. This one could easily...

    Hacking Help with MultiGame ISO

Did you rerun the MIOS patcher that came with Xi? Which MIOS did you use to patch? v4, 5, or 8?

Burning slower is not safer, it's a myth. That's why some burner/media manufacturers lockout writing at the slower speeds. It's more dependent on media quality and your burner. New pc = new burner? Memorex isn't always great media, depends on what plant they bought the discs from for your batch...

cIOS downgrader and ARC are essentially the same thing. Can't remember if cIOS Downgrader lets you change console region and video modes as well. HBC first (obviously), you have a NTSC-J copy or TP for her? or you going to put your chip in her system temporarily to enable out of region/backup...

    Hacking Format your Wii! Now!

Most often, from what I can tell, the "format your wii to fix it" suggestion... Has been handed down through the ages, from one noob to another, it's power wielded without care or caution, destroying all that succumb to it's temptation. kidding aside, pretty sure I've never seen anyone that...
