Hardware No backlight Switch Lite (no 17v)

I would buzz through the 17v drive line through to the backlight FPC on the daughterboard. The connector linking the two boards is famous for burning out or losing connectivity at one end. Normally you get button faults at the same time which are a good indicator. If the line is broken in any...

Hardware "Unable to charge" X error

The issue was primarily Fuel Gauge related if I remember correctly, although I think there were some M92 issues there too. Probably worth changing those out first. Does the issue occur with the official OEM charger? If it doesn't, you may have damage to the USB data lines going to the SOC...

Hacking RELEASE Lockpick_RCM payload - Official Thread

I've got a Switch mid-repair. Unknown origin. Boots with black screen. Unit is unpatched and fires up Hekate fine and everything checks out OK, although unable to launch Atmosphere. Trying to do a rebuild of the NAND, but unable to use Lockpick_RCM. The keys are partially built, but when sept...

Hardware Switch no display, no current (0A), no short

I've had quite a bit of success recently with replacing the battery fuel gauge IC [MAX 17050] on a few boards which were exhibiting the 0.4A power drain, but no screen or shorts etc. If you can get back to the point where it is drawing 0.4A, then I'd recommend replacing this. Often you'll see...

Hardware Switch Only Charging with one site USB c plugged

Have you tried removing the CC line ESD protector on the other side of the board near the USB-C? It's not a mandatory fit, so can be safely removed. I've had a few instances where it screws with one of the CC lines causing the problem you describe. You'll find me mentioning it in other threads...

Hardware "Unable to charge" X error

I've got 5 boards with the same problem. They boot fine, however when I plug in any charger including the OEM, I get a warning message saying "Unable to charge", with an X beside the battery symbol. This happens with the USB connector both ways. CC lines buzz through to M92 fine. ESD...

Hardware Day 1 firmware Switch 1.0

Hey folks, I'm working through a batch of Nintendo Switches that need to be repaired and I've come across one unit that appears to be a Day 1 unit with v1.0 firmware installed (I believe fuses match as it boots without CFW fuse check bypass). My question is whether there is any value in...

    Hardware Error 2002-2629

No CFW was involved with the testing, but that's useful to know. Thanks!

    Hardware Error 2002-2629

OK. So update on this. I've got a big batch of units going through the workshop and that gave me access to a lot of gamecard slot subassemblies. After some trial and error, I've found a gamecard slot sub that doesn't trigger the error. So it seems we're back to the subtle problem of different...

    Hardware Error 2002-2629

I didn't. I'm starting to wonder whether this is paired with the CPU much like the NAND. I didn't attempt an IC replacement after you had no success.... Sheriff Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk

Hardware What's the function of the MAX67721 next to the SD FPC?

So the MAX77621 buck closest to the USB-C is for the CPU. It comes on almost immediately after the bootstrap processor hands over to the main core on boot. I measure about 0.8v (there are two convenient square test pads to the left). The second buck near the NAND drives the GPU and doesn't fire...

Hardware What's the function of the MAX67721 next to the SD FPC?

There are a pair of the MAX77621 subsystems one feeding CPU and the other GPU. I can get you some measurements tomorrow if you still need them? Sheriff Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk

Hardware Switch Lite Screen isn't powering on.

This is the flexible flat cable linking the two boards on the switch lite together. There are no diagrams for the Lite that I'm aware of but worth searching on Google. Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk

Hardware Switch Lite Screen isn't powering on.

Check the flexi linking the two. Classic failure mode. Make sure the flexi is properly seated on both sides and that you don't have bent pins.. Sheriff Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk
