    Hacking Luma3DS - Noob-proof 3DS Custom Firmware

Just what I was looking for. This helped fix the black screen while booting problem. Thanks! Like what @Cygen did, I restored a previous backup using Hourglass9 (or Decrypt9) so that it could boot again and installed the clean system titles that I patched (Home menu in my case). Everything...

    Homebrew SafeA9LHInstaller

My friend wants to update his A9LH to AuroraWright's v2 but he's unsure if he used Delebile's A9LH fork or AuroraWright's. Would he still need to do a complete install of A9LH or is it safe to update if he's using another fork?

    Hacking Luma3DS - Noob-proof 3DS Custom Firmware

Question about the no SD booting A9LH fork: What if... - I'm using the no SD booting A9LH fork - I don't have an SD card inserted - I install some stuff and somehow brick it (but I have a Sysnand backup in my harddrive) Can I: - Get any SD card (say, a 4GB one lying around the house) - Put the...

    Homebrew SafeA9LHInstaller

Yeah, tried the .bin on my other 3DS and it also installed successfully. Good thing the stage2 install was removed.

    Homebrew SafeA9LHInstaller

I want to switch from Delebile's fork to Aurora's noscreeninit fork, so I should do a full install (run the .dat file instead of the arm9loaderhax.bin file), right? But whenever I try to run SafeA9LHinstaller.dat from the Homebrew launcher it just goes to a black screen. Do I just retry until...

    Hacking Luma3DS - Noob-proof 3DS Custom Firmware

From the github page of the latest release: Please note that you must delete all patched_firmwares from the aurei folder with this release! I have patched_firmware_sys.bin inside the rei folder. That's the one I gotta delete, right? Just wanna make sure. And why do we have to delete it in the...

    Homebrew SafeA9LHInstaller

Thanks for this! Hopefully this can convince others to go down the A9LH path now that it's safer to install.

I love the latest release. My system now boots at ~9.5 seconds. So fast! Now, I won't need to use a separate bootloader. Thanks for being awesome :grog:

Those worked. Thanks a lot! Now it doesn't look like it's hacked anymore

Is there any way to hide the text that flashes for a split second at the bottom screen when you boot using BootCTR9? I'm using the latest one (Arm9 bootloader v0.4.1 Alpha).

@jackb994 is right. You will need to restore a pre-A9LH nand backup to remove the exploit.

What does recovery mode... well... recover? How does it differ from restoring a NAND backup?

Homebrew ARM9Loader -- Technical Details and Discussion

Please correct me if I'm wrong because it's been years since I touched my modified Wii, but did BootMii advance to the point that it would be possible to restore the system even without a backup? And would that (restoring w/o a backup) ever be possible with A9LH on the 3DS?

IIRC, someone on this thread said they were working on getting it to boot without an SD card. I don't know how long that will take, but if that's what's keeping you from using A9LH then you don't really need to jump ship yet.
