    Well the problem there is that I literally can't get to any kind of settings while the Wii is plugged in, when I disconnect the Wii I get the option to switch from PC to AV mode, not that it matters because I'm getting the exact same error message either way.

    I use a Seagate 1TB USB external hard drive formatted to MS-DOS (FAT32), about the usb loader, homebrew says the version is 3.0 r1272 if that's what you're thinking.
