GameYob v0.5.2 changelog:
This is mostly to make running in DSi mode more convenient by providing a cia file (as dsiware)... because I still use this over GameYob 3DS. Don't tell Steve

I should probably just remove all advertisement of link cable emulation, because it hardly works at...
GameYob is an open-source gameboy emulator for the DS. It has excellent compatibility and speed, and runs many games flawlessly. Notably, it can use the Gameboy Color bios to colorize pre-color games, just like on a real gameboy.
I've got a minor update, v0.5.1. Please don't get too excited.
Changelog:
No, I'm serious. See the first post for the real changelog though. People have been reporting savegame issues since v0.5, but I simply never fixed them. I was starting to feel bad about it, so here's a fix, even if it's...
Oh. That isn't a gameboy color hack. Just like the original pokemon red and blue, it supports colorization through the Super Gameboy, not the Gameboy Color. VC doesn't support the super gameboy. On the other hand, this should work on VC.
It would help if you linked to the patch in question. As others have said, it sounds like something is wrong with it if emulators aren't automatically detecting it as a GBC rom.

The SGB borders never really got implemented, it seems neither of us bothered to remove that option from the ds version figuring it would get done "eventually" :P
Well windows is probably hiding the real extension from you... if you can tell it to not do that you'll be able to simply rename it to remove the .txt at the end. Unfortunately I'm not sure exactly where you can change that setting.
It sometimes seems like I don't check the forums because... I get tired of answering the same questions... and there's no update news or anything :P
Look in Key Config, and change Fast Forward to FF Toggle.
You need to download a .cht file, see the first post for details.
@Xdqwerty, Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! is the Japanese version of the game, different settings/characters/songs but otherwise identical mechanics. I played that before I knew about Elite Beat Agents lol. Both fantastic games https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osu!_Tatakae!_Ouendan
