    I used to use 4x before I started using usb loading, which is the best method for loading backups imo (faster, cheaper, and less space =P), and never had any problems. Then again, I was using Verbatims so I didn't expect less. Hope I Helped ^^

    Yes this is because of disc loading. Only way to fix is usb loading, I recommend this path, it will save you money, load times, etc.

    There's no way that a hdd can be slower than a dvd. I first used dvd as a method of playing backups and it was just horrible, every time I played a game that had video there was so much stuttering I wanted to kill myself. Maybe there's a problem with your hdd, check it out...
