    In China, a romantic relationship between a brother and sister is a very serious act, and one could have their legs broken.:(

    But with cousin it is illegal?

    In the US, some parts you can marry the cousin, some parts you can't

    Most people if they look back 100-200 years will find some cousins like this in the family tree

    I just looked it up online, and in ancient/modern China, it was indeed possible for cousins to marry, which was called '中表婚/表亲婚', but recently (since the 1980s) it has been prohibited.
