This list assumes that BOTH DS are NOT Flashed.
Please test out download play for other games so I could fill up the list!

If this "download play" is to a "blank" DS i will gladly participate with EZ Flash IV Lite Deluxe.
Also, if it was possible to get a list of games that allow download play i would also help out even more!

That being said,

EZ FLASH IV Lite Deluxe (Probably all EZF4s)
Bomberman = WORKS
Tetris DS = WORKS
Elite Beat Agents = WORKS
Osu Tatakae Ouendan! = WORKS
Mario Kart DS = FAILED
New Super Mario Bros = FAILED

I'd say it has the best download play support. I wouldn't say it has the best GAME compatibility though.

If by quality, you mean a product that will receive updates only once every blue moon from developers that don't care to inform it's users about anything, no thanks...

I guess, you have to pay for quality products.

Good thing you don't have to for timely firmware updates.

Though, it does not feature 100% compatibility like most other good slot-1 solutions and is supported pretty terribly by its creators.

The DS-X will be dead and buried when the 2gb MicroSD come down in price.

2gig MicroSD is already only [EDIT!] £30 [EDIT!] - coupled with a £30 r4/m3 thats still less than a £75 DS-X costs with just a quarter of the space available (512mbyte). [EDIT - £60 for 2gig of games, thats a bargain :> ]

It's horses for courses though - if you want to be able to use download play and don't care if some singleplayer games have some problems & can live with 512mbyte, get the ds-x. If you don't care about downloadplay and are more concerned with a high compatibility in singleplayer games then get a m3/r4 with whatever size microsd card suits you.

Sorry, but Multiplayer game doesn't work with
- Unflashed NDS Lite / Supercard DS as Sender
- Unflashed NDS Lite as Receiver
- Mario Kard DS European Version.

WFC might work, but Multiplayer / Download not.

Ralf

GBM / NDS / 2x NDS Lite / PSP / 2x XBox
SC / SC MiniSD / SC Lite / SC DS One
M3 MiniSD / AceKard / UMC / NinjaDS / MicroNinja
NinjaPass Flash 512 / NinjaPass X9
EZ Flash IV / IV Deluxe / V
DS Xtreme / R4DS / DS-Link / GBAMP

DS-X has the best download play support, noobs.

If the quote below it's true, they're probably equal.

But as Ralff already states that it does not work for him, I doubt it is untill others can confirm it really works without flashing...

I don't think there's much of a difference between the carts in download play compatibility, except for ds-x then.

http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=41914 Royal and some others have already tested lots of games for M3Simply, which as everything will go for R4 too...

For those looking for a "fix," going old school (you know, 1 yr old) and installing flashme should remedy the problem. Do keep a slot 2 device handy though as flashme's failsafe is programmed for slot 2

For those who don't want to do this, don't complain when a game doesn't work when a solution exists.

Well, the problem is that the receivers needs their DS flashed, so it's your friends who need to void their warranty and risk the ds being bricked... Also it's just much handier if it's not needed.

Also, how is the downloadplay compatibility with to a flashed ds actually? Are there any statistics about that?

I remember reading a post somewhere that said that download play for a game worked on the R4 but not the M3. But I guess it's cause the R4's firmware was updated sooner? I'll try to dig up the post for it so you could check it out too.

Hmm, I think it's a firmware difference then yeah, cause in M3Simply update 1.01 (R4 1.04) I think something was said about that...
O and when you're going to retest Mario Kart, can you also retest New Super Mario Bros, cause that title doesn't work on other devices either...
