Hacking G6 Lite secret codes to get it working again

If your G6 is not recognised by your PC anymore, It probably has a slight case of memory f*CK
Here is a secret code maintainace solution.

Access G6 via DS
Press Y
When green writing appears press L+R+START+SELECT
AGREE TO ERASE THE MAIN MEMORY
When complete switch off DS
Plug G6 into computer and format to FAT.......... (IT WILL NOW!!!)

Using official mputility and with G6 still plugged into PC let MPutility work its magic it takes about 10 mins.
Safely disconnect G6 from PC
Reconnect G6 to PC
It will now recognise, amazing isn't it?

Put back all official folders if you so desire.
Put the update files onto the root (you should know all about this)
Safely disconnect from computer
Plug back into DS and update (Press Y 'green writing' press A+B+Start+Select and agree.)
Finally using your PC reload the G6 and away you go my friends!!!
No more memory F*CK

Another secret code to test memory OK
Press L+R+A+B at the green writing screen

If anyone else knows anymore secret codes or codes that are not widly spoken about please publish for all of us.

The above process indicates that alot of problems with the G6 are just minor and can be resolved. Long live the G6 Lite back to the top of it's game.

Oh and credit to who ever else published this code, I only got it through reading your topics. RESPECT !!!!!

What site did this come from? Can someone confirm this? I can't confirm because my G6L isn't corrupted (hopefully never).

My G6 was Fuc**d, I have carried out the procedure just now and I confirm that my G6 works perfect again.
I saw an answer to a thread in the M3 adapter forum, not totally related to this, I thought I'll try it and hey presto.
I'm advertising it because it needs advetising. Hope I help everyone.

If you need more details on the procedure that I followed please ask, I'm here to help.
The forum that I found this on said that you needed to format to fat then MPutility then Fat again, I was dubious about the final FAT format because I thought that it would undo the mputility work so I didn't do it and I seem to be right because my G6 is alive and kicking.

This solution is primarily for G6's that are no longer recognised by the PC, even though the blue LED still lights up.
It will probably solve most problems i.e corruption.
It cleans the G6 memory.

Corruption problems and G6 not recognised are very upsetting to owners, who probably panic at the time it happens. I did, so this topic or one similar should be stickied so that it's easier to find.Having read the topics in this forum, it is obvious to me that this is not commonly known or solutions would cut threads dead very quickly. Most corruptions threads are resloved because the user admits a procedure error or they run without conclusion. Often for many pages and forum members who are stuck have to dissapointingly trawl through to no avail.

Can this be used when the G6 lite is not even bootable??

Obviously if you cannot boot the G6 lite in a DS then you will not be able to enter the code. However if you can access the G6 lite via the pc you can format it via the PC anyway. So there would be no need to enter the code. If you can't boot via DS or PC then you have serious problems.

My problem is that the computer recognizes the cart,but in never boots in the DS even adter using MPU.I have already sent mine an I am waiting for the exchange.

Memory is not the same as storage space, though.
That memory test simply flushes the SRAM and primary RAM, but if the corruption exists on the flash RAM that you write games to and that part is somehow damaged, even this won't fix it.

Still this is a useful guilde as it may still help some people.
I found that keystroke by accident, I think....

That's not just a G6 problem, sometimes other USB FlashDrive don't recognize by the PC when u plug in it.
I usually solves my problems by unplug it and put in it again, or plug it into a different usb port.

nevertheless, any possible solution to G6 problems should be stickyed for people to try. I was looking for a solution to my particular problem which was:

My G6 worked perfectly with my DS but was not recognised by my PC apart from the blue light lighting up.

I tried using a different G6 USB plug
I tried other USB ports
I tried another computer
I tried removing the USB drivers and allowing a fresh PC/G6 reinstall
I tried cleaning the gold contacts
I tried other G6 cartridge cases
I tried putting a thin piece of cardboard on the G6 USB plug to make a firmer contact
I even tried telling it that I loved it

But the only thing to wake my card up was the main memory wipe,FAT format and mputility format. Then a reinstall.

This works if your symptoms equal mine. I agree I had no corruption and I agree my card was always recognised by my DS. If this works for anyone else with the same problem as me, then please post your results. Also post any other findings with regard to fixing problem cards.

That is a little harsh, don't you think? It is not all that stupid of a question. Granted, all you have to do is use the Beta Firmware as I do and it would be in English (just making sure you update the U-Disk software) but there is some logic to think that pressing some button combination would allow for the install of the English firmware.

lol my question is not stupid, your answer is. did you try it on a chinese g6 lite?
Maybe it is possible. you can do a total wipe on a chinese g6 and try to install the english update file.
i dont have a chinese g6 lite to try it, so i cannot try it, but maybe someone else can/want.

And I know about the beta firmware, but it doesnt work with the latest u-disk manager

so to play all games you still need to update your chinese g6 lite....
