Crediar just released DSaveManager v0.1:

QUOTE said:
DSaveManager can be used to transfer savefiles from DS/3DS games via wlan to a PC.

Usage:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
This tool only works on a DS/DSLite!

1. Setup WFC via a game
2. Change the IP in the dsm.ini to that of the PC running the DSM.exe
(Leave a newline at the end of the IP)
3. Load the DSM.nds on your DS/DSLite, any method should work fine.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions!

Addition info:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Neither the 3DS card nor the DS/DSLite can be damaged by this,
DS cards and 3DS cards are using the same pinout and the same
voltage. Only the protocol for reading the ROM differs!

Obviously 3DS cards normally don't fit into a DS.
You can either saw off the edge or open the card with a knife and
insert the board into a DS card-case.

Also the current libnds fails to correctly detect the savefile
size so I added a hack, please report new found IDs when the tool
prompts you too(but only for 3DS games!).

Download on the 3DBrew Wiki:

Thanks Crediar

have also seen this on BradOn's twitter. but in this case, we would have to file off the extra nub on the 3DS-cartridges, in order to fit them in the old DS/DSL, wouldn't we?

Yes you are right, i edited the info.

what is the point of this tool?

as stated in the very first post!!!!!

"DSaveManager can be used to transfer savefiles from DS/3DS games via wlan to a PC."
(not that difficult to figure out, was it?)

i doubt this is of any use for gbatemp "we-the-hackers" sayers like you, when you can´t even read the manual.

just posting this for informations sake...

This is interesting, but can it write save files BACK to the 3DS?

If so, I may just have to try this.

I have a novel idea that involves some of you trying these things for yourselves, thus learning in the process...

Somehow, I knew doing this would be a part of the scene at some point. Didn't know it would be so soon!
Poor 3ds carts -- it's like sawing the horn off of a unicorn.

Good scene development overall, though.

Don't know if Crediar read this section, but if you do or anyone else.

Does the 3DS send on the same "pins" as the DS does? Now I mean exactly the same in DS or 3DS mode?

Read the OP.

I'd try this if it didn't involve filing the 3DS card 0_0

I get that Crediar doesn't support the NDS Adaptor Plus, but it at least doesn't mutilate the cartridge. Plus it's a lot more convenient.

I don´t think this tool is made for daily use, it only can read, not write.
It´s for dumping saves and analyzing them.
Everything about 3DS is about analyzing now.

tried it, and it works on my DSi for backing up DS games (don't know how to convert the dump, though).

Wait, it can dump DS games? Anyone has compared this with wood dumper? Is this faster, cleaner, better?

Sorry, that was a typo, I meant game saves.

wait, was the bit about sawing off the nub on the 3ds game card sarcasm or sumthin? does the cart need that to function?
