This is an interesting report. If I read this right, both versions of 1.16 from NDSTT.COM have fake killers, but the later version removed "support" for the EON chips.

The EON chip appears to be the one in the CNDSTT.COM version of the DSTT (at least it is the one detected in mine). I wonder if the removal gives any credence to the idea that CNDSTT is telling the truth when it talks about a split?

Also, it looks like both companies are targeting the fakes with the AMIC chips. Anybody know which clone/fake is using that chip? I'd assume its either the U2 or the DSTT-Advance.

So what does DsttFlashWriter do exactly? Does it disable the fake-killer code in the firmware (making it safe for clones)?

Are the three posted firmware files safe for clones?

So, any way to check what ship I have without opening the card? I have one on the way from DX which I believe is cndstt.
Is there any way to be completely sure that cndstt firmware 1.6 does not kill it? If so, then all is good. As long as there will still be updates from them. Which I guess I don't really believe. Might as well just buy myself an Acekard, I guess.

Yes, it's the same. Thanks again for testing it!

I've put a copy of the patched 1.16 firmware (that presumably disables the fake-killer code) in the download area. It's the same as the link posted by niu above (6C4BC6A0). Use at your own risk. If anyone does notice a problem, please let me know and I'll remove it.

niu, what's the difference between 6C4BC6A0 and 7EC3C76E? Are they functionally the same?

Also, DsttFlashWriter v3 has a bunch of chips listed that it now detects. Does FakeDetector detect all of these chips? If not, is there an updated version of that program?
