For those who don't know what the heck this is about...

UPDATE: The save with this patch does not work on the official Englsih Games which has recently been released.

My apologies to those who bear any discomfort with this

I need someone to hack the font, its too big to fit on the screen, however it is very understandable.

Edit: I have checked all text during my play-through no japanese text appear ever, except maybe the ending credits.

Here's the English patch:
NOTE: The in-game credits crashes the game
Please do not download this patch any longer.
I will be posting an update patch in a while
please reserve a copy of the "original" rom for patching
Please do not continue the game when you reach the crystal stage, named "Libra of something", i forgot

The german hack is where i based my hack, meaning it came before the english hack

It needs some work to play it in english... But you cannot just choose any language.

If you're not that hyped, then you can wait for the official release.

What I'm saying is that the scripts for other languages are included "IN" the rom, perhaps the topic title may have been misleading.

However, if someone would pick, for example, the english script and place it on the kanji part,

and then picked the german script and placed it in the hiragana part,

then you now have language options with japanese voice -overs

This will only come in handy for those who live in europe, because their release date is in Q4

This is all conceptual at the moment, I i gotta run to school like a friggin sissy.

Now i'm looking into those overlay files to see if they'll be any help to the script

Thanks, they are fat so they don't fit the screen, what do i need to do to inject them to the rom and the patch?

yes it will patch all into english, excluding the starting menu, the voice-acting & i'm not sure if the wifi setup is in english and recently the credits

I was playing around with the rom myself after seeing your post, but i don't know anything about hacking the pointers, and such so i was at a dead end.

Yes, the released date was supposed to be Jan 06 2008, but went and became delayed

I'm trying my luck on hacking it to european languages, but have been unsuccessful as of yet

EDIT: Ooopsi, my bad, 'twas supposed to be dated Jan 06 2009

awesome I played this in japanese when it came out but had no idea what to do so I ended up getting stuck but thanks to your patch I can finally get through with it.

Just one more question,does it patch the whole game all the way to the end ?

Which files did you change to get the english texts?
I can only find these few files, which seem to be important for the language:
