Hi

I'm new to this whole deal but I was wondering if someone could help me out choosing the right flashcart. I know the R4 is good but it wont be getting any more firmware updates.. So maybe someone could give me some suggestions which one to get and also where to get it (as in which website is safe)..

well I've seen the charts and read the reviews and maybe someone can explain this to me.
*Other than the price why does the cyclods have low rating in the chart?
*Are the R4 and M3DS Real really that bad?

I also narrowed down my choices to CycloDS and EDGE

can I have some input on those two and also maybe an answer to the questions..

CycloDS if you want features such as real-time save + others.

EDGE if you just want to play games with no extra features.

Yes, the R4 is really that bad compared to the rest.
 
So the reason why the CycloDS has a bad rating in the chart is the price?
Do both CycloDS and EDGE work with all games and homebrews?
sorry for all these question. Just trying to make a right decision.
 
CycloDS isn't rated bad, but only it's price..
Both CycloDS and EDGE work great with games and homebrews (almost all flashcarts that get updates have 100% compatibility with games now)..
 
I have a CycloDS...if you don't care about all the features and spend too much money buy an EDGE

Awesome so I think i'll go for the CycloDS.
But just two more questions.
CycloDS is compatible with both micro SD and micro SDHC right?
Where should i get it from. I checked in realhotstuff, consolesource and dealwoot. They all have almost the same prices. Are all of them reliable?

Reviews are the best because they're the least biased.

Anyway:
If you want the best flashcart and don't care about the price: CycloDS Evolution
If you want the best flashcart but do care about the price: Acekard 2
If you want a flashcart with onboard NAND memory and if you plan on developing: Acekard R.P.G.
If you want a flashcart that also offers a Slot-2 (not for free though): EZFlash V & M3DS Real
If you want a Slot-2 expansion: EZFlash 3-in-1 (GBA, RAM, & Rumble)
If you want an alternative to the CycloDS Evolution but cheaper and a crappy GUI: SuperCard DS One
If you want a flashcart that could possible brick your Nintendo DS: R4 DS, R4 III & N5
 
I just checked the DealWoot website and they're selling the KGB DS for like $47.50.

It's like almost the same price as the CycloDS but crappier.

That is pre-order, and noone knows anything about that cart..so don't post stuff that is not for sure....
How do you know it's crappier?!?!

Package looks great and very professional..
 
Does anyone know if the screen protector that comes free with the CycloDS at dealwoot any good? Should I put it on my DS? Is it the best screen protector for it?
 
I can tell you that it surely isn't THE best you can get!! But I never used it, so I'm not sure if it's safe to put it on either..
As long as it uses static to stay on, and not leave any residue after removing...it should be good!
