So i've had my Old 3ds modded for a while now, but 2 weeks ago my CFW sd card stopped working and idk how i can get that stuff but on a new SD card, i still have the original SD card that came with the 3ds and the out.rar file that has the boot9.bin and stuff. sorry if this has been asked before but the stuff i found were for the New 3ds so i just wanna be extra sure.

Can you still access the "broken" sd card on pc or not? And do you want to copy your files from it to a new sd card?
Btw, i would recommend buying a new sd card, and don't use that older one that came with the system.
You should check the new sd card for errors with h2testw before using for good.
After it passes the test, you can format it as FAT32 32kb cluster size, and follow the guide here and here to get the necessary cfw/homebrew files back.

Thanks! but i don't know what luma version i have. or do i just follow the whole guide again even though i have put CFW on my 3ds before? hope i'm not bothering too much
Well, just put the latest Luma3DS files in the root of the sdcard, and update your system (unless you don't want to, for some reason?).
The version of Luma shouldn't be an issue, if you just installed cfw recently..

Btw, you can see what version Luma you have by holding "select" on boot, without the sd card inserted. And that's if you'd installed Luma3DS on the ctrnand, otherwise it wouldn't show the Luma3DS menu.

Well, that's to get the other necessary homebrew apps back, like the Homebrew Launcher, FBI, along with other stuff..
does it being installed in 2020 count as "recently"?
Yes.Also, what firmware are you on?

My 3ds firmware is 11.13.0-45E and my luma firmware is v10.0.1

Just update both. Update Luma first, then the system. And do not skip testing the sd card, you'll be saving yourself from many headaches later on..
this might come over as really paranoid but does is still work if i download luma 10.0,1 instead of the newest version? since i don't want to accidently break anything when upping the system firmware

The reason why you should update Luma first is to not be greeted with an ARM11 error once you update system. If you plan on staying on 11.13, then fine you can just copy that version of luma 10.0 into your sd card, and it'd work as it should.
Also, there's nothing to break, you are just swapping a boot.firm file with another, worst case scenario (which won't happen anyway) you just switch back to Luma v10.0 easily..
