1.How does the ban from online affect my NID?
2.Can I get banned from my NID for just modding the console?
3. If my NID gets banned, how does it affect my switch, that was at one point linked to the NID (note: when the 3ds was modded, there was a different NID on it)
4. About the note from question 3, can the account, that wasn't on the console, while it was modded get banned?

If you get banned you won't be able to go online, won't be able to update the system, make any purchase on the same account. As long you don't do charge back or cheat online you would be fine, they don't care about the 3DS anymore.

Switch doesn't use NNID, as long you don't link the NNID to the same Nintendo account you should be fine. On the switch they ban system not account.

The switch account was linked to the NNID in the past. So, if there was a NNID ban wave, could I get banned?

Unlikely, but I'm so paranoid about getting banned on any system after it happened on the ps3 that I didn't link my nnid. I don't even post my psn, Xbox, or switch ids/friends codes for that very reason.

Yeah, my friend modded the 3ds after I borrowed it to him. He put a different account on it, but after I unmodded it and put my account back on it, I am still scared. I also unlinked the NID from my switch account, but I am frightened, that I can still lose both of my accounts because of this idiot.

Afaik, Nintendo almost never bans accounts

Switch use nintendo account not nnid that is two different thing.
I think he means the switch was linked to the same account, which you can do in settings on the nintendo page. it's next to facebook, and other stuff that you can link to your account, but you're right that it doesn't use the nnid.

2 things...

1. They don't even care about cheating online on 3DS anymore. I tried it with cheating in MK7 online and using Club Tortimer with a custom TPC picture. Never was banned.
2. They absolutely DO ban Nintendo Accounts. But not for installing homebrew. It's for chargebacks or when someone is extremely rude to Nintendo support and/or they think that you want to trick them into giving the account a game for free.

that's why I was very polite to the manager I spoke with at Nintendo. I was angry about how the xc3 special edition thing was being handled, but I didn't yell or curse. I just spoke to her plainly. Nintendo did go out of their way to get me a replacement joycon for a special edition system.

Cool, you got a competent rep. I'm so close to venting it out at a rep because of it being such a fucking ORDEAL to get the voucher back from an accidental purchase of a different game.

Rep #1 was competent and he said that he would reactivate the voucher and I would get email confirmation when it was done.
The only email I got was "contact ConQuest (Nintendo's distributor that doesn't provide any sort of support)" because I changed the account region.
Rep #2 said to either contact ConQuest again or call them (international call, 50¢/minute rates, not paying that)... I declined.
Rep #3 offered me a "callback" where THEY would call ME so I wouldn't have to pay international rates, I said OK and said times where it would be OK.
Then I again get no call and an email telling to contact ConQuest instead...

Of course you get ban when you do chargeback that is expected.

I know doing Nintendo stuff through text message has an option for refund, don't know if it works for vouchers.
