ROM Hack Translation Draglade 2 translation 2021

Hey everyone I'm starting up the translation for Draglade 2. I already made a pdf file for the beginning of the game to get people started. Also it may take a while because Kanji is really hard to translate.

Hi everyone I'm sorry for not updating in a while, but due to the complex of this game and there's like no way to to put all the words in translation without corrupting it. Unless someone know some type of reverse engineering. Otherwise this is gonna be deemed untranslateable.

Thank you, right now I'm just doing PDF for now. I can send you the picture to proofread and I'm currently looking for a program that won't crash on me, when I patch them.

I think you'll need to recruit a hacker to help make a custom program so you can decompress them and work on it easier. Generic stuff (Crystal Tile/Tinke) won't work.

See I never knew that. Thats out of my range, well people going to have to settle for a pdf, until we a person for that.

Sorry for the delay on the update but things had happened into my life I hope everyone is doing OK and taking this covid thing seriously . Now that I'm much better hopefully we can start off getting this game finished by the end of this year.

hey just wanted to reply here to tell ya if you need a real good decent translator for jp text use DeepL and for any image translation that you need use Yandex image translator option, now i want to also state that with the image translator from Yandex you can pull the text off of the image itself; it depends on what Yandex could translate within the image itself so remember this, anyway to get the text off of the image itself to then use DeepL to translate it - just once you upload the image in there will be an option on the top right corner that appears stating 'opening as text' - after going through the robo crap thing you will get the dump of the text in it's original format not translated.

i apologize for replying back late

my experience with yandex translating the images off of the jap game screenshot i took was pretty well not bad, not gonna lie, if you wanna give it a go (note; i am super late suggesting this so i don't know if you tried or not) use any images of the games files that is in japanes, upload it on yandex and let it translate if the translation isn't good - just extract the japanese words and copy it to use deepl - deepl is really great at translation texts especially japanese, i do also know they have been getting more support these days so website is going well so far.

although just encase if a japanese sentence is displayed in a short way - like when the text is pulled and the texts aren't together to form a proper sentence that's when you got to back space in deepl with the japanese text you pulled from the image itself until the english translation for the japanese sentence makes sense.
this will occur sometimes when you have game texts that like to put everything in a form as this:

hello,
hi are you?
do you think, you can
come over?

see how odd it is, - i am pretty sure you have seen games laying out the japanese text in that format align style - that right there you are gonna have to back space to complete the sentence in a form for you can understand...- i hope i made sense here x.x cause i sadly deleted the example that i used like last year or the year before for people to understand how deepl works at times.

I unfortunately have no experience in Japanese nor translating it so I can't really help, i've read the above post which suggested using DeepL and yandex to translate, i think i could help with at least that as it doesn't require any translating knowledge, regardless, i'd love to donate although i can't offer much unfortunately, do you have a paypal?

Second, the translation of the texts is not a big problem. The biggest thing is the number of letters per textbox. In one line you can write 15 letters, in total 45 letters per textbox. The fonts have to be changed but it do not work. One more problem is the script data. When you translate script data 2, which is the first with story texts, and go to script data 3 the backgrounds do not load and the game crash. We need someone who know about pointers and analyze the full game. Once that is done, translating is not a big problem.

about the textbox, are you saying that there isn't enough text space for the english translation?
