just use the csm instead of the base app and apply the mym to it
if you are using thememii and set the system menu version in the options just deselect it then when you click create csm thememii will ask you for the base app just point it to your csm

when it asks for the base app, i can only select .app files.

You have 2 options here
1. a csm file is the same as a .app file just with a renamed file extension so you can just rename the file from theme.csm to theme.app
2. when you open the file select dialog in thememii at the bottom where it says filename type a * in it and hit enter you can now see all files in the select dialog box

Heyo recent wii modder here. So I really liked the dark purple theme, and I tried to add in the fast spinning menu animations. Doing so set the colors for the top section back to default, but not the banner bellow. Then I tried editing in the hexagon wii channels from the luigi theme. Once again I was successful but the colors are default again. What specific file defines the color for the background and channel border? I don't want to have to use theme bylt editor because it makes files for every single thing on the wii, rather then just the one or two I probably need.

Hi, new in installing themes, but my menu is Wii System Menu v4.3U

is there more menu themes which are of green color (my favorite color) compatible with that version?

I know there is a dark green version but is there another which is green too? (such green with white menu or even everything on green xD)

any theme that is a mym should work just fine on 4.3U
the only reason we have some themes marked as NTSC and PAL is because we edited parts of the menus that are different in different regions
sorry but i have no idea if there are any green based themes maybe the luigi theme

I actually did It a really stupid an time consuming way and manualy copied each item over, making sure to copy the base file, the location of what needed patched, and any adition parameters such as size. manually. I had no Idea you could essentially patch a csm file you already made with a mym file. So I manaully added every single file. Although I swear I replaced nothing it's water under the bridge now, it all finally works and i have a much more efficent way to edit things. Thanks for helping me set up my dream wii

works fine for me
what menu version are you trying to download
have you let thememii through your firewall


ahhh i see only 4.3 is still on the server
you will need to update the wii
or maybe modmii has the files not sure on that one

Im trying to install 4.3U
And this is what i get:

Is it bad internet?
And I didnt get a firewall message like usual when apps want to connect to the internet
So I have no idea how to fix this

thats very odd i only get that message when i try to download 4.2 or under

huh
the brlyt editor doesnt care what system menu version you are making a theme for it uses the same files for all themes
use a 4.3U base in thememii and you will be fine
