Sudden game corruption + Tinfoil can't start

My Pokemon Brilliant Diamond game suddenly crashed and is now corrupted.
Aswell as that, Tinfoil refuses to open anymore and gives the following error:

"Could not start the software. Please try again from the HOME Menu."

Unsure how this happened.

Things that I did prior to this:

Replaced my battery with a new one
Cycled the battery from 100 to 0.1 and back to 100
Updated Atmosphere, Hekate & Fusee

Didnt do anything on homebrew switch for a while, how what where when
