How to update a really old Twilight Menu?

Hi. I've found my DSi XL and started playing a few games on it. I instinctively held the x button down while it was powering on by accident on like, the second day of playing, and then Twilight Menu kicked in. Tinkered with it a bit, and then I wanted to update it to the latest. But here's the thing...my Twilight Menu is ALMOST 3 YEARS old. I do not think updating it would be safe because as the years past, perhaps the new instructions for installing Twilight++ would go wrong?? I need help ;-;

You probably just need to move any DS game save files into a "saves" folder.
