I added one more Pokemon Mini boxart. @AdamCatalyst @mastershoes if you're interested.... I made it standalone and then i did my best to transform it into the style you re-did my earlier pokemon covers with. Will post individual files, plus the full set that has the (properly i hope) shrunken spines including the new one.

EDIT: I went ahead and made a low effort boxart for Snorlax's Lunch Time as well, swiping a front image from launchbox.... i also made a Blank Cover for th blank covers pack, i'll go post that in whatever thread keeps that. I'm also updating the full pack in this post.

But wait, there's more! Our Amstrad GX4000 collection has been bumped from 25 titles to 669 by @matto21

So i finally got around to investigating this, and... can someone explain to me how this got bumped up so large? There's only about 30 games released for the GX4000, so i'm not sure what these other titles are?

there are more than 600 roms converted to .cpr
which can be started with the Amstrad GX400

is there a significant difference between the CPC ROMs and the GX4000 conversions?
the difference is that the cpc roms converted, on amstrad GX4000 start automatically
so they can be started by pressing on the covers
instead with wiituka if you start the roms from the covers you always have to wait for it to load the roms list

even if you memorize it before starting a rom from the cover you always have to wait for the list to load, the only solution if you want to change the game to start immediately you have to press home from the wiimote and scroll the list to start another roms

Covers - SNES - shrunk spine (198 Revised Comparison) - 2022 04 06.zip

Hey folks,

Today I updated my own SNES cover collection within the SNES cover collection within this thread. The links are quoted above.

My SNES cover project got stalled last summer for personal reasons. I had been re-doing my top 100+ covers all over from scratch a second time, this time as pixel perfect as possible based on research of original inks, layout system variations, regional typefaces, and a special focus on authentically westernized Japanese titles. Unfortunately this project got stalled at 98% finished last fall, and I'm not sure when I will have time to finish it.

I was doing updates for others today, and decided I might as well share my latest versions as-is, since I imagine there will be less interest once @ToddofWar420 launches his massive labour of love any time now, and I have no interest in trying to compete with him. :)

I've posted some of my favourites below.
cheers,

-Adam

Here's one more NES game, it's for the ROMHack of Super Mario Bros. 1 that turns it into the NEC-8801 game Super Mario Bros. Special, which was an official sequel to SMB1 that didn't have any screen scrolling on its original hardware. A neat oddity in the Mario canon that IMO is worthy of inclusion here.

EDIT: Give me a moment to fix it, i looked at it again and i think it's ugly lol.

There that's better.

You truly astounded me with your knowledge of these obscurities! Will get it into the next set updates.

Hate to post so much (that's a lie, i love it) but i figured out how to semi-automate the process of fixing the spine art for the Pokemon Mini boxes and re-generated the boxart from that. Maybe it's hard to tell, but i used a different warping tool in ordr to "straighten" the spines from 3D boxart into rectangles, so things will tend to be a little more straightened out now.

This .zip doesn't include Snorlax Lunch Time because there's nothing i could do in the same vein to improve that particular boxart. The rest of these supercede my previous pokemon mini collection. I think i properly resized them for WFL too. I also included an alt for Pokemon Tetris.

I can see the difference. :) Will get it up in the next update batch.

Does anyone know which cover type I should use in my platform.ini for the 'Famicom Disk System' covers posted on the first page of this thread please?

They are 1090x442 but are sidewards with the top of the picture being towards the centre. Most other sidewards covers have the top facing outwards, so whatever cover type I use they display wrongly, either upside down or sidewards.

open plugins_data open platform.ini
under the heading [FLOWS]
search FDS and put
FDS = fds_case

Thanks for the suggestion but this didn't work for me. I have tried putting values in 'FDS=', such as fds_case, sfc_box, cd_case, snescart_box, sega_cd, gameboy_jp, smallcart_box, etc, but none work properly.

I get different views when I change the 'FDS=' entry in platform.ini, so I know my plugin ini file and magic number are correct.

I'm not using any theme. All my other plugins display properly.

Update - I found a fix, I used 'adjust coverflow' and rotated the image.

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
