Ripped off the Battery Cable

Hi everyone,

Today i changed the Battery of my Switch and wasnt very carfully and ripped it off the Board, can the Switch be Saved?

Maybe. From the looks of it one of the pads got ripped off but looks like it might be fine following the traces. If you can resolder things then yeah it """"SHOULD"""" be fine

The pad right next to it seems to connect to the same thing. So it just might be fine.

No problem for a qualified repair shop or when you know what you are doing.

You will need a new connector and some extra work for that 2nd ground pad but it's certainly doable. What lead to that carnage? The connector simply pops up and out of the socket.

From the pic it does indeed look like it connects to the same ground plane as the pad next to it. Probably the easiest way would be to solder the connector back and then bridge the pins but I’m sure someone will have a better method

If you’re not 100% confident in SMD soldering then definitely take it to a repair shop or you will make that worse/potentially unrepairable
