Not sure about that "unknown" unless the internal hdd is encrypted with something like bit locker. Mine is encrypted, so I have to wipe the drive before reflashing with acronis.

@slider86 , remember to reformat to fat32, because iirc, disk part will format the drive when going from gpt to mbr or the other way around, and it has the same limitations as the normal windows formatting tool where it's restricted to 32GBs or less, so use the gui formatter again.

Format to FAT32 first, then use the disk part in Command Prompt? Not the other way around?

no, use disk part first. iirc, it will format the drive. then, use fat32 formatter, because you'll most likely have to format it as ntfs first.

After going through that all again I got this error message when trying to hide the file using UStealth:

Untitled11.png

Or do I only use it when I come back from using it on the Wii U?

BTW, you can hide the drive manually by changing the last two bytes of sector 0 to 55 AB in HxD, just rememberto check the0 box to enable write privileges. Check if it's hidden then in Ustealth.

Well I didn't have time to try it last night but I switched my computer on today and noticed something very weird. My USB drive still doesn't boot up on my PC. When I open Disk Management it's not there. I open EaseUS and it finds it but as Unallocated while UStealth finds it as it should.

I did what I was supposed to do yesterday. I have no idea what's going on now.

that's weird. I don't know what could be the problem, but I think there's something wrong with that hdd.
It would be a good idea if someone just told me to order to do everything in and the exact tools to use. That way I can make sure I'm not making any mistakes.

format the unallocated memory drive to ntfs, use disk part to change from gpt to mbr if it's still like that, then format it with gui formatter. put your stuff on it, then use ustealth to hide the drive. if that doesn't work, go back into HxD and try changing 55 AA to 55 AB, then see if it shows hidden in ustealth. try the drive with the wii u after that.

How do I make changes in HxD when it comes up as read only?
