I have a problem with my R4itt New (No screw on the back) and when I insert it into my 3DS XL the R4 comes out white, no picture and no name. It didn't happen before, the detail is that before, when it worked, I lent my Nintendo to a friend and he got into a file that he shouldn't have, it was an update file (FwUpdate V5.06) And he aborted the update without completing the action of the archive. From that moment the R4 does not read anything from the micro-Sd, will there be a solution? (Sorry for my English, I'm not very good)

normally the firmware is copied to the R4 sd card. it is dependent to each R4 model.
Yes, but all the files are fine, I have that downloaded to the Sd card, but the detail is what I said, I had another .nds file that was an update, and in the middle of the update it was interrupted.

It might be possible to use ntrboot flasher to fix it, probably not though since it doesn't look like that card is supported...

Unfortunately the card is probably just bricked... You can get decent cards pretty cheap at the moment at least, see r/flashcarts' quick start guide for what's recommended, or you can always just use TWiLight Menu++.

You -might- be able to unbrick by running the firmware update .nds with another flashcart, and swapping to the bricked one before you initiate the update.

This may or may not require a DS/Lite as I believe cartridge-swapping like this on DSi or 3DS is not possible.

Depends if the firmware update file gives you any time at all to swap the cartridge before initiating the update, of course. and also depends on whether or not the entire thing fits in memory or if it'll just crash once you take out the cart.

(Not sure if you could run it through nds-bootstrap and flash the cart that way but that's something to consider otherwise.)

No, no the r4 menu files, the bootloader firmware, is a file you copy to the SD, then put the R4 on console, the R4 Icon do no show and you wait some time, then eject the r4 and insert again then the r4 show the new icon.

That's the kernel, they messed up the firmware which is what's on the actual flashcard itself, not the SD card.

An incorrect kernel will almost never cause it to not show up on the menu like that.

My R4 card have kernel files (wood) and a UPDATE.BIN file which upgrade the firmware of the R4 cart. when i did have similar problem, copy the UPDATE.BIN to sdcard root, put the R4 on the 3DS and wait, then remove and put the R4 cart on the 3DS and all works fine again.

Honestly I can't find any files similar to that, sorry I don't know if I'm too newbie.

Sounds good, but I already tried nds bootstrap, and no it didn't work, it would have been nice but it's a shame. I guess I rule out the other option, I don't have any friends who own that R4 card let alone a Ds, maybe I'll start considering buying one.

There isn't a solution to fix this. You'll need to get a new cart.

Or don't. TWiLight Menu++/nds-bootstrap is the way to go nowadays anyway.
