That’s definitely strange. Do you still have a /switch directory? It’s complaining that you don’t have any apps in /switch. please send a screenshot of your /switch directory.
Tryed to do 90dns has a folder in wrong place?

Switch_90DNS_tester.nro should simply be copied directly to your /switch/ directory and then instantly available when you restart HB menu.

Everytime switch robots

something is very wrong here. There should only be one file called default.txt In in this directory. The one with two extensions needs to be deleted.

Should that be there?

No it should not.

What is the purpose of this screenshot? We had not talked about touching the ns-hbmenu config directory. Did you add/delete something there? Please provide context.

Hi everyone. I haven’t spoken in here for a LONG time and I’ve recently moved house, where my son dropped my switch beyond repair. I have decided to buy a new one and realised how much the scene has changed since I CFW’d mine so I’m hoping some nice people in here can answer a few questions. I have searched but there is so much to catch up on, I don’t want to head down the wrong rabbit hole.

I previously used an RCM loader with atmosphere on a day one switch. I was planning on getting another older one but finding one local with a suitable serial is proving difficult.

Finding an older V1 is probably still the easiest path.

1. Regardless of serial number, can they all be modchipped now?

Yes, all V1 (Erista), V2 (Mariko) and V3 (Aula) can be modchipped with enough money and skills. $120 (yank $) + install. Of course you can save some costs of installing by DIY.

So if I buy a cheap switch on eBay I can be sorted?

Yes sir. Proper sorted.

I have experience soldering so even the oled chip doesn’t seem that bad. From a glance, the non-oled chip doesn’t look that much easier either.

OLED is absolutely beautiful but you pay for the beauty at each step. :-)

2. When hwfly etc has been installed, is the rcmloader dongle still required to boot?

No dongle required for a chipped device.

I don’t care about playing online, and don’t play in handheld mode so don’t require an oled console considering they haven’t improved the speed or anything else internally.

But they’re still beautiful.

3. Does it still use a cfw the likes of atmosphere?

Absolutely. At this point Atmosphere stands alone as the only CFW current with Ninty Firmware. No politics.

I know pretty much nothing on Switch hacking in general, but I'm thinking of selling my 2017 day one EU Switch to someone who'd want to hack it (I recently bought an OLED and don't want to do any hack on any of my Switch).
But is it still hackable with the latest official firmware installed (as of this post)?
Or did it actually lose "potential hack value" because of that?

A day 1 is always hackable. There is no way to patch an unpatched switch…ever.

Look one post up…

@chipshill just happens to be in the market for a V1.

should there be a emunand txt in there?

that didnt work that 90 dns>

im i ever going to get this working
An emmunand txt where? Please be specific and clear.

Switch_90DNS_tester.nro requires no install and no configuration. Simply drop it in the /switch directory and send a screenshot of the /switch directory when you’re done. If we can’t get this working…everything else is much harder. Plus we need to be certain you’re not leaking info to Ninty before we continue Forward.

someone in youtube had in atomphere hosts beside the default.txt maybe they have different set up

I see no reason to delete the first line.

Looks like you are booting into E perfectly.

Lets do two more things to be sure.

1) Please check your system serial info (do not paste it here unless it’s zeroed out like this XAW0000000000) to make sure your Prodinfo is in fact being zeroed out.

2) Please install 90DNS tester: https://github.com/meganukebmp/Switch_90DNS_tester and post a screen shot of it running if it is anything BUT all green like you see in the readme.md.

what installer do i use for files to large for fat32?

@Hayato213 is correct. Any modern installer will be able to handle large files. You have two really good ones already installed. Let’s stay focused on getting your machine fixed.

Perfect. No rush.

Quite possible but we’re focused on fixing the files that you have and making sure they work as expected. No need to stray from the happy path which is to fix your dns:mitm (default.txt) and test its effectiveness using Switch_90DNS_tester.nro. There is no sense in moving forward with anything else if we can’t get this simple piece of the puzzle resolved.

We absolutely need your Prodinfo to be wiped out using exosphere.ini. Not sure what you mean by not using that method as you have the exosphere.ini file in your root directory.

as for the screenshot you shared…

For Switch_90DNS_tester.nro you need to look at the releases…not pull down the source code. Switch can do nothing with source code. You need the binary located here: https://github.com/meganukebmp/Switch_90DNS_tester/releases/tag/v1.0.3

No the full serial number is there

This is really bad news and means your exosphere.ini is not being called. This means Ninty is able to track your every move in fine detail. We must get this turned off if you want any hope of not being banned with extreme prejudice.

On a hunch, can you check to make sure you don’t have double extensions on this file as well? It’s possible you have exosphere.ini.txt. If so, you need to remove the .txt.

Wat cause the double extension and tinfoil not installing sd card?

This is just Windows Operating system hygiene and the way you move about a Windows PC. See my note about Windows Explorer setting to make the extensions visible. Also when using notepad.exe it often defaults to .txt. You need to change to make it say *.* when saving any new files. That way it won’t append txt to anything you create. You might want to switch to notepad++ which is a more WYSIWYG text editor but to be perfectly honest, at this point, I’m afraid to introduce any “new tech” we’re not already wrestling with at the moment.
