What are exactly sigpatches?
From a faq here.

What are sigpatches?

Sigpatches allow your Switch to install and run unofficial NSP files (digital titles that appear on the home menu). Note that you must use CFW to launch these applications even after installation as sigpatches are always required to do so.

Important
Using ES or FS patches are not supported by Atmosphere and never will be. Please use Google to answer any questions regarding this.

This is pretty good as well but had links to other things so I won’t post the link:

Atmosphere, the custom firmware you have installed, has been created by people that don't really want people to use it to pirate videogames. They didn't want to provide support for piracy. So some clever guys made "patches" that can be easily intalled in atmosphere to allow you to play pirated games on atmosphere. So whenever you update atmosphere, the other guys also need to update the "signature patches" needed to install and launch unsigned games

Most newer installer do support it. And it is quite a space saver.
To call it an un-official format in a 'pirate' scene is kinda....

nsz is the same size as nsp after installed. It is unofficial when some site won't even allow you to share nsz format, even though they allow xci/nsp

if I already have 100gb worth of game installed on the SD card prior to hack the switch, are they also usable once I added an emuNand partition? or have to download the game data again (for playing on emuNand), effectively having 2 copies of each games on the same sdcard.

I'm talking about saving storage space on your HDD where you keep a backup of all your games.

Just because some random sites do not allow nsz format does not mean it's not an official supported standard filetype. Heck you can even uncompress a nsz to nsp... It's basically like a ZIP version of some other random file, but much more compressed to save space.

And all up to date installers support the filetype. If it doesn't you are using a very outdated software...

So again while you might not like the file type, it's far from an unofficial filetype. It's even becoming more used than ever to save space on all those online drives. So don't spread misinformation.

Its possible to have both. When you create an emuMMC partition, you are effectively creating a new console but it exists on the SD card. As such, this new 'console' needs its own Nintendo folder for reading games installed to the SD card. From here, there are only 2 choices you can make. You can either have emuMMC share the same Nintendo folder as sysMMC or make emuMMC use its own separate Nintendo folder. Some people go for the latter option because they are worried about getting banned due to pirated games meant for emuMMC being installed to the same Nintendo folder that sysMMC uses which they go online with. There is no evidence for this however. Other people make emuMMC use its own Nintendo folder since there is not much reason for sysMMC and emuMMC to share the same game library, most of the time.

I'd like to transfer a save from emunand to sysnand.

I started playing Pokemon Legends: Arceus a couple of days before it's release and I'm really enjoying it. I want to buy it but I'd also want to keep my save.

What is the best method of transferring a save on a V1 unpatched switch?

Does PLA do a save check? If so, is there a way to change the date I started playing the game?

wanna ask something but i aint sure where to ask.
Lol just go ahead and ask. That's what this place is for.

I don't know of the best method but the only way to transfer saves normally is via homebrew, more specifically with a save manager. We also don't know if the game has any checks as it is still relatively new but there is no way to change the date you started playing the game.

Hi, how to enable both emuNand and sysNand to share the same game data? So I dont have to install twice.

Assuming you're going to use Hekate to create the emuMMC, it will create an /emummc folder that will have an emummc.ini file within it. This file contains some settings for your emuMMC, one of them being the Nintendo folder it uses. All you do is change the emummc.ini file to read the Nintendo folder on the root of your SD card aka the one sysMMC uses.

wow, so I can actually buy games as usual on sysNand (via eShop), and then play the game on emuNand? (with mods etc). So this way I can literally have 2 different saves of the same game, one is clean on sysNand and the other modded on emuNand. This is wonderful news, thanks!!

Actually there is one caveat when it comes to digital titles. See, those games need tickets to be launched. Those tickets are installed when you purchase/download the game from the eShop. When you initially make your emuMMC, its a 1:1 copy of sysMMC so all of the tickets for your eShop games will also be in emuMMC. But if you buy any games after making emuMMC, those tickets will not automatically be transferred to emuMMC. You would either have to remake emuMMC (which would be a hassle) or install that game in emuMMC.

I wanted to use SXOS, the website has been seized by ICE?

Hi guys, I wanted to ask: like a week ago, since Pokemon Legends: Arceus was available online already, before the launch date, I decided to try it. If I understood correctly, people going online with it before jan 28th would incur in certain ban. The question is: this ban retroactive? I never went online before with my Switch with CFW, but would I risk something going online in future because of Arceus? I have Atmosphere, btw
Thank you!

If you go online with a pirated copy you are more likely to get ban.

Hi, thanks for your answer. I know that there is generally the possibility to get banned (and that's why until now I decided to not go online), but what I was asking is if I would get a certain ban caused by the particular case that I described. Asked in other terms: would it be recognizable that I started playing Arceus before the 28th if I would go online now?

I think you would get banned if you actually going online before actual street date, going online before the game is released would tend to get people ban.
