Never played a Call of Duty game before and I just want to know what to play between 2 games, Black Ops 2 and Modern Warfare 2. You can either choose what would be a good COD to start with in the Poll or just say it in the thread. Thank you for the help!
I'd say that MW1-MW2 are good games. Haven't played MW3 yet tho. BO1 is worth playing as the campaign holds up.
Truthfully I haven't played BO2 that much but the local multiplayer games are fun. If anything it's better then BO4.
Overall I feel divided on how to answer your question.
Because while BO2 and MW2 aren't bad games not by a long shot they somewhat have the older games as a backstory that directly continues into those games and I'm not really sure if you gain or lose anything in terms of keeping up with the story so IDK.
But if it doesn't have to between BO2 and MW2 then I'd say to play the prequels first, MW1 and BO1.
MW1 is a decent game with a good 3 & a half star campaign (although not as solid as MW2's) memorable characters such as Gaz and Captain Price, and is overall a game that solidified a lot of good innovations of the FPS genre so I have to give COD 4 credit for that.
BO1 has a really solid 4/5 campaign with the memorable cold war/Vietnam war setting, excellent characters and just some really fun gameplay so yeah, also get into BO1 if your interested to play BO2.
Great thing is about the black ops storyline is that it differs from the Modern Warfare storyline so you don't have to worry about having to play MW1 to understand BO1, you just need to play MW1 in order to understand and appreciate MW2.
