It may looks strange to think that the OLED can be used on the LCD connectors
What I expected is that LCD needs the backlight + signal connectors
OLED should not need the backlight, but still need those power pins
also i expect the signal from the board to the screen should stay the same for the ease of manufacturing and developing
and therefore the hope of the connectors should work
anyway, we need to wait and see

I read somewhere that you can't simple connect an oled screen on a lcd connector because of how the display "works" and the voltage it needs.

it must not work if u simply connect a LCD to an OLED board or vice versa
as I have said, OLED doesn't even need a backlighting
and the array or matrix structure of the the displays are totally different from each other

my point is that I would expect nintendo to manufacture them in a way so that they can share the same input connector
Imagine that u can have 2 PC monitors with one LCD and the other OLED
They can share the same HDMI / Display Port / VGA / DVI communication standard due to the control boards on the monitors

you are thinking about monitors not about panels, if you disassembly both monitors (the LCD and OLED) you will find what if even they have HDMI connectors the ribbons going to the actual screen (panel) will be A LOT different, they doesn't share the same data bus, nor the same voltages nor the same illumination.

What I would really like to know is if we can put the unpatched board in the OLED shell
It seems that the 3.5mm aux hole and the power / volume buttons are all at the same place as before
If the battery and screen are better, and the connectors allow
it's great to upgrade our systems with the new screen
here you go ! I was thinking about something like this .. an adapter could be sold to convert lcd to oled data/power/connectors

on a side note, I agree with others that IT security is way better than it used to be and it will keep improving but at the same time, it's not been so long since the Switch was hacked and Nintento is managed by humans and humans make mistake (or decide to leak stuff) so there is hope for us.

The oled screen may be technically compatible with the old models but good luck trying to fit the old mobo in to the oled shell or the oled screen in to the V1 / V2 shell. They have slightly different form factors internally due to the stand hinges on Alua.

not slightly different already lol
the board has different in most parts.
Only similar internal parts are the fan, battery, and the part of the board under battery.

I don't know much about EE so I haven't bothered looking at the actual logic on the board. All I know is the shape / size of the board is different.
