Hi guys. I finally got a second hand Wii U. The previous owner formatted it but luckily Mario kart, that came bundled with the console when he bought it, is still there.
It works like a charm. Question is: if I get a DLC from funkiiu, would it work? Where do I have to install it? I plan to install chbc. Or do I have to download the whole package (game , update , and DLC) and install it on an external hd ?
Another wee question. I 've read that funkiiu can download legit and fake ticket? What works best with haxchi? Is it dangerous to install a fake ticket DLC on a ligit game?
Thanks for your help and your time

If you tend to mod, go with Haxchi or CBHC (I prefer Haxchi for safety reasons) and use Wii U USB Helper for content over funkiiu. Install to an external HDD. Everything works perfectly.

Not everyone has a Windows PC or wants to jump through hoops to get USB Helper to run on Linux or MacOS.

I haven't ever personally dealt with pre installed titles but I imagine it works all the same. Just install the DLC to NAND and it should work. DLC will always have a fake ticket and require CFW like Haxchi, CBHC, or Mocha.

Hello! On this same subject, I need help. My Wii U came with a pre-installed MK8 and I downloaded only the DLC for it using Wii U USB Helper. I installed the DLC, but it won't show up in the game. What am I doing wrong?
Edit: solved! The DLC MUST be installed on the same storage, in my case, I should've installed it on the Nand. Thank you guys for the quick response.

two possibilities, if it's the wrong region, wii u usb helper should've had you select your region during first boot. second, if you don't have sig patches going, the dlc won't work. there's a way to make it work without sig patches, but you need to download the free mk8 dlc from the eshop, then transpose the tickets. I think the mercedes benz is free on the eshop for that game during their promotional thing.

Has to be same region.
Also the dlc must be on the same storage as the game. So if the game is on nand the dlc must be on the nand as well or if the game is on hdd the dlc must be on the hdd.

Exactly! I reinstalled the DLC on Nand and it worked. Now have other question, how do I uninstall the DLC from the HD?

does the dlc show up on the hdd? I mean the game itself?
So the thing is I don't have this specific game installed on the HDD, I have it only on the Nand and I previously installed it only the DLC on the HDD.

I have one possible idea if it doesn't show up. try copying (don't move), the game to the hdd, then try deleting it.
This makes sense! I'll try that!

try copying the game. theoretically, it should allow you to delete the game and dlc once it's on there. they'll be deleted together. to make sure it's deleted, check if the game is on the hdd. dlc is 5000c while games are 50000 iirc. they go in separate folders basically.

there really should be a check of some sort to see if the game is in the right location when installing dlc. that might help with mess ups. you can find the title id in the tik or tmd file. it's always going to be 0005000c for dlc, then the rest of the title id, which will be the same as the game.
