You just need one sd card, if it works and is legit. Recommended at least 64gb. Best to get bigger than that if you plan to put games on it too tho.
Sandisk is supposed to be good. That's what I used though there's a problem possibly with my card reader so it's not exactly working for me rightt now xD.

You also need a usb cable (that works for the switch)

thanks. so, i can download games and put them in the same card and load the games from that sdcard?

If that is so then i guess i better get something 256/512 gb.

does it has to be A2 card? or A1 is sufficient?

Yes, make sure it's a micro sd card tho.
I don't even know if the switch can take advantage of A2 cards.

It was recommended to format the micro sd card to FAT32, but then with that you can't have singular file sizes over 4gbs, but you can use programs that install the games by usb (onto the sd card for the switch) if they're bigger than that. (and some are)

Hello, i just backed up my emmc/boot 0 1 from a clean fresh switch (unpatched). On my sysnand im alreay logged on my nintendo account, but i want to create a emunand now thats clean and not linked to my nintendo account.. Can i just create an emunand with my nintendo account linked on sysnand? Or is that not possible?

I'm just wondering something, but with the regular system, it says to only insert or remove the sd card when the system is turned off.

For the emunand, does that matter? And if it does, when can someone insert or remove it if they don't shut down their console?

Also, would it make a difference if I get the system update for sdxc cards? (to get it to work better for hekate and whatever else)
Since emuMMC is running from your SD card, what do you think would happen if you removed the SD card while it was running? As for the update, all it enables is support for exFAT SD cards but FAT32 is superior to exFAT on the Switch so its not much use.

I just connected to wifi and applied 90DNS settings… but now every single game asks to update… even though I am updated to the latest version of all games.

I can still start the software, but I’m annoyed to go through that extra layer. Is there a way to fix this? I didn’t connect to wifi since hack was available since 2018, but I had to do it now to make MK11 work.
Are you sure its a game update? It could also be a system update. Are you on the latest firmware version?

Do you wish to go online with your clean emuMMC?

I would like to use the FTP server, but nothing more than that.
Then you need not worry about a Nintendo Account being linked to your emuMMC. You can retain usage of Wi-Fi related services while blocking connection to Nintendo's servers with 90DNS.

1 more question if you dont mind, can i safely use autorcm? or will that affect my sysnand?

So once my emunand runs i still have to connect to my wifi before i can set the 90dns, wont that give me a ban risk?

Gotcha, so don't remove sd cards while it's running.
But then how do people put the card in and out without powering off or going to rcm? (and having to put in a payload every time)

There are ways to move files without removing the SD card such as through FTP, MTP, etc. Otherwise, they have to power down the console and re-enter RCM to send the payload again which isn't that big of a deal if you're always near a computer or have an Android phone/payload injector.

Ok. still more trouble.
I'll keep that in mind next time if or once I can get my card reader to work again.

i am on firmware 11.00

and skyward zelda doesn't installed says signature is too low
do i need to update firmware? what is the reccomended firmware that works with sig patches

So what's the recommended way to for.at a 128gb sdcard to fat 32. I tried diskpart and it didn't work

You can try guiformat. There's fat32 version. That's the one that was recommended to me and it worked (before my sd card slot failed)

Guiformat will check that out. Other thing since my sd size is so large how do I transfer back to the fat32 SD card getting around the file transfer size/limitation?

Hi guys. I have a couple quick questions. I am about to put the Tinfoil NRO Self-installer on my Switch mSD card. When I go to run the Self-installer in CFW (Atmosphere), is it better to run it in title override mode, or should I run in Applet mode?

Also, I am looking at switching mSD cards, going from 256GB to 400GB mSD card. How should I go about formatting the 400GB mSD card? I read on here that FAT32 is recommended? Also, what cluster size should I use?

Help appreciated :)
