Ok thanks for the info.
I'm not sure why the emunand needs to emulate that 32 gigs if it's blank, when it could just read from the internal memory without writing in it. Although maybe I just don't understand its purpose.
So what 'does' use that 32/29gb of space? Is it for save data for games in internal memory? Well i guess it just means ill figure out transfering to a larger card :P

Yes, you aren't understanding emuNAND or it's purpose. emuNAND pretends to be the internal storage of the switch. A switch, like let's say mine. It has 32gb of internal storage and 128gb sdcard. The sysNAND uses the 32gb of internal storage, but when I'm booted up in emuNAND mode it looks at a specific 32gb section of the sdcard and is tricked into thinking that 32gb of sdcard memory is in fact internal storage. So, you aren't just limited to putting save game data there. When you install a game to the internal storage while running emuNAND you're actually installing the game inside that 32gb of reserved space.

In essence, the emuNAND isn't really "wasting" any storage at all.

Also to clarify, no, emuNAND cannot "just read from internal storage" as you suggest. When you are running booted up as emuNAND the internal storage of your switch is not touched at all. That's why people are sure you cannot be banned for actions you take offline in emuNAND, they literally do not effect anything inside the internal storage of the switch.

To be clear.

If you are starting with an 128gb empty sdcard and you think that's enough storage, using emuNAND shouldn't really change your opinion at all on if the size is right for you. Wanting to use emuNAND isn't really a reason to need a bigger sdcard (although you will need one bigger than 32gb, which yours already is). Wanting a large library of pirated games to be available at all times? That's a good reason to want a bigger sdcard. You might as well use what you have though, it's plenty big enough, and in a few months if it's too small you can always migrate/upgrade to a larger sdcard. As I said before, you can't simply copy/paste an emuNAND to a new sdcard but hekate does have an option to migrate to a new sdcard. And the files other than the emuNAND can be copy/pasted.

Slight Issue after Updating AMS. Now I can not run Homebrew in Applet Mode without getting a Error about 0100000000001000, which I do not have anywhere. Also, Homebrew NSPs no longer work, without it saying it can not start it, return to the Home Screen.

EDIT: OK, not sure what I did, but I updated the Sig Patches, and went back to a older hekate, and the NsPs work. But Applet Mode Homebrew do not

Hi guys. I recently updated System FW to latest with Daybreak, but homebrew apps only work in title override mode now. Can I use cheats for a game that is on a gamecard (Skyward Sword), with EdiZon through title override in CFW (Atmosphere)?

Lacius said that homebrew apps shouldn't be run in Atmosphere Applet mode, and should be ran through title override instead. In Applet mode, none of my homebrew apps would run, kept throwing error 2144-0001 (0x290).

Thoughts and help appreciated :)

have you updated the apps?

Hi there, looking for some help, I bought a switch back in December managed to get it going and install a number of games using awoo installer and my daughter has been playing happily since her sd card is full. Now months later I would like to update to the latest fw but seem to have forgotten everything I learned in December current system version: 10.2.0IAMS 0.15.0IE. Some of the games ie Animalcrossing, and super mario odyssey do not work properly. I would like to update the system, get these games to work. Also going forward is it possible to use multiple sd cards so when one is full I can swap to one with other games. Any help in achieving this is most appreciated thanks in advance Marc

Yes. I updated homebrew apps. Um, what does that error mean? Is there a fix? I updated Checkpoint and I think EdiZon.

If you upgraded from an old setup, delete the atmosphere folder, redownload Atmosphere, put it onto your SD card, and try again.

  1. Update Atmosphere to the latest version: https://github.com/Atmosphere-NX/Atmosphere/releases/latest (deleting the atmosphere folder on your SD card beforehand is recommended)
  2. Update your bootloader to the latest version (Hekate and/or fusee-primary)
  3. Update your signature patches: https://github.com/ITotalJustice/patches/releases/latest
  4. Download the system update you want to install (12.1.0 is the latest version as of this post, and it is compatible with Atmosphere), and put the folder onto your SD card.
  5. Boot into Atmosphere and load the homebrew launcher. Launch Daybreak and install the system update you downloaded. Choose the exFAT+FAT32 option, even though your SD should be FAT32.

Ok, I still have some items in the "Atmosphere\Content" Folder that is not Cheats for Games. Also, I am still getting a Error that seems to point to 0100000000001000, but I do not have that item ANYWHERE. Always when I try to run a few Homebrew Apps in Applet Mode. If I try to run them with the HBL NSP, it just closes out.

You should be using title override (holding R when launching a game to boot the homebrew launcher). Also, did you delete the atmosphere folder from your SD card before updating Atmosphere?

You may want to post pictures of your SD setup.

OK, will see what I can show. What should NOT be in the "Atmosphere\Contents" Directory? Because I still have some items in there, like.....
00FF0000000002AA (BootSoundNX - Not Working now due to Update)
AA200000000002AA (See Above)
4200000000000FFF (TriPlayer - Not Tested Yet)
0100000000000038 (Noexes)
0100000000001013 (Unknown. Search did not give a definitive answer)

It's recommended you delete the entire atmosphere folder and make sure everything works after transferring a freshly downloaded version of Atmosphere. If everything works as expected, then you can start manually re-adding other things one at a time. That way you know what caused it if something breaks.

Some homebrew applications are memory intensive and, by design, don't work with the photo album (applet mode). These apps require title override, and they will cause the system to crash if you use something other than title override to load them.

Contents Folder should remain, correct? All Cheats anyway. Then also re-add the Patches and other items required, not included with fresh AMS?

You can backup your contents folder if you wish, but I am saying you should verify everything works with a clean version of Atmosphere after deleting the entire atmosphere folder from your SD card.

You can restore cheats, etc. later.

Just did a fresh Atmosphere Folder, renamed the Contents Folder, but still getting Software Closed due to Error Messages from certain Homebrew NSPs. Mario64HD, HBMenu, Tinfoil still works, though, but not GTA3, or GTAVC, or Goldleaf, or RetroArch.
Still getting the 010000000000100 Error. (Process ID is 000000000000007f)
Also, what is the setting to get rid of the Game Cart Error Message on Boot?

We don't know anything about your homebrew NSP's, and you shouldn't be using homebrew NSP's. You should be using title override. The homebrew NSP's could be out of date.

Edit: What gamecard error are you receiving? Did you allow your gc slot to be updated?

At Boot saying the Cart could not be read. I think I forgot to do that bit. how do you Update the Slot?

Either boot into OFW without using Hekate or fusee-primary, or edit BCT.ini to force-disable nogc. If you are using AutoRCM and you want to preserve your fuse count, you will have to do the latter, not the former.

Added that in there, but still get it.
BCT0
[stage1]
stage2_path = atmosphere/fusee-secondary.bin
stage2_mtc_path = atmosphere/fusee-mtc.bin
stage2_addr = 0xF0000000
stage2_entrypoint = 0xF0000000
[stratosphere]
; To force-enable nogc, add nogc = 1
; To force-disable nogc, add nogc = 0
; To opt out of using Atmosphere's NCM reimplementation, add
disable_ncm = 1
nogc = 0

Where did you put BCT.ini?
