That wouldn't normally be an issue but I customized the Portable Apps menu enough that it would take a while to redo all those changes. I guess I'll just plan on completing this process a few times per year.
just copy the portableapps folder off, format and reinstall, remove the folder on disk, and copy back

You could always just leave the PortableApps folder unchecked when extracting the files to the drive. Not a whole lot gets changed in there between updates anyways, mostly just updated apps.

Hello :) I have a small problem. I often use the medicat USB for installing windows, but during the reboot process during installation, it boots to medicat rather than continuing the windows installation. How can I prevent this?
Unplug the USB when it reboots, and you can plug it back in when you see the windows dots spinning.

Hey cool i tried booting Windows 10 and it wont boot how did you do it? Maybe im just being stupid.

Can I use this tool to run Windows-only firmware updaters (Thunderbolt and SSD) and then reboot into Linux like nothing's happened? If so this tool would help me a great deal in simplifying these kinds of updates.

I personally think that usecase would be better suited to Medicat VHD

For a lot of modern PC's you have to disable secure boot (BitLocker Encryption). Then while booting up you press repeatedly tap ESC, F2, F8 or F12 to access either the setup (to change boot order) manually or hopefully access the temporary boot-order and select your USB key to boot off of.

Anyway, Jayro, good stuff. I'd been looking to repurpose my USB for a while and this is a solid use for it. I loaded Medicat up to 2 separate OS's and took a gander at the various programs. Very nice!

If you open the ventoy folder, you can edit ventoy.json with a JSON editor or Notepad++, and remove any entries you don't want. Then delete the ISOs you don't want, and they'll be gone.

Actually you don't have to do this. Just delete the iso file or wim file will do.

I updated Jayro's Lockpick (removing the 32-bit menu), made AAA3A's Backup and AAA3A's Partition. These tools will normally be updated or added respectively in Medicat USB 21.08. Before I publish it all, do you have any interface changes to suggest? Do you have any software to add? Thanks in advance.

i am enjoying seeing all the changes that you are adding to medicat project between you all. Looking at the interface would it be possible to put Official Website under its own heading instead of Power Options? Just an idea.

Many thanks for the 21.06 version. I am having a problem with the Mini Windows 10. The resolution defaults to 640x480 and cannot be changed on my Thinkpad T430. 21.05 worked fine at 1600x900. Double checked my USB format and made sure secure boot was disabled in ventoy too. Any ideas?

Maybe I can rename the category to "More options:" instead, right?
