We're not going to modify the right joycon
Unsoldered the switch on button b and inverted it with the A just for this game.


As if the game wasn't difficult enough, it confuses our brains with the buttons.

Backup with checkpoint.
Extract and put 'lang' file inside the backup folder.
Restore with checkpoint.

And do not enter the key remaping setting page.
It may cause a problem.

This has been the game format since 2011, why would you want to change it?? As a ds veteran im glad they did it this way.

I have like 200 hours on PC with xbox controller but I must not have played for a very long time, because I also felt the buttons were reversed. Lack of muscle memory then...

I put probably a thousand hours into the xbox version, of DkS1, and then probably another thousand into the rest of the series on PS3/4 and PC with a PS3/4 controller, I cannot stand the reversed buttons. As far as I'm concerned, B should never be Confirm, no matter the placement of button.

I'm sure this is from japanese version dark soul.
When I put this file to save, the game thinks it is japanese version and change its key setting.

So I think swapping L/ZL and R/ZR with this file is impossible.

Oh well, I went into the key remapping screen and was able to swap them. It wouldn't let me keep A as jump, but having it mapped to L3 like Dks2 is a small price to pay. Thanks! <3

But nothing is reversed... controls are the same as xbox/ps4/pc...

Which means they are reversed. In what world does "b" means confirm and "a" means return? Also, in every game in the world, "b" is used to dodge and run, "a" is used to talk and do general actions. You can't just change that on a whim because "it's how the buttons are placed on other console".

and what if i use gamecube style switch controller or if i use switch controller on the pc, are they still gonna be in the same position? are you that seriously retarded? and what about the fact that it behaves differently in the games start menu and in-game? they fucked up. period. they are wrong and you are wrong. no reason for it to be in same position as on the garbage sony console. on xbox its in same position only because A button is there. on pc its not always on the bottom, its where A button is.

I use A to run and B to confirm in switch... the same placement as other platforms.. what is wrong with you people.. its just named different but the layout is exactly tye same

Sorry for necroposting, but I literally created an account just because you are awesome! I already played 12 hours but still died a few times because of confusing controls, but after I used the lang file with edizon and remapped Run/Jump and Interact button, everything is fine .

OBS: I know its possible to remap the joycon, but it made the entire switch like that and it confused me a lot.

Dark Souls on PS4 is awesome. I don't play it on Nintendo Switch because no sequels at all. Just one ported which is a waste of money. PS4 have three sequels of Dark Souls and they are amazing!

Now, it is going to be next game is: Elden Ring is a sequel to Dark Souls. I am looking at PS5. It will be available on PS4.. No Switch at all.

PS4/PS5 rules!

Now, it is going to be next game is: Elden Ring is a sequel to Dark Souls. I am looking at PS5. It will be available on PS4.. No Switch at all.

My only "next gen" console is Switch, so I'll have to stick with it. I'll probably replay on Ps3 and play the second one, but Remaster has better graphics and sadly there's no DS3/BB/Sekiro for Ps3 neither Switch.

Is there a way to make this work on a legit copy while booting on sysNAND without the risk of getting banned?

Hey, Just relogged here and the funny thing is: here I am, 4 months later and I only need to defeat 2 bosses: Kalameet and Gwyn, the final boss. I don't know about you, but I'm almost finishing this game, after a 60 hours and a lot of breaks(I don't rage or break stuff but take 1-2 weeks breaks when I'm frustrated, lol)
