Hey! Whenever I try to use the screen record option my 3ds just crashes. Is there anyway to fix this?
Are you using OLD 3DS or NEW 3DS?

How to convert videos for viewing on a 3DS?
You can use .mp4 video file (H.264).

Im using minitool video converter v3.0 to change my videos into a format that works on this video player and i got video to work but keep having trouble with audio im using the mp4 format
If you don't hear the audio at all, you may need to run this software.
If you hear the audio but it's stutter, you should decrease video resolution and framerate.
144p@24fps for OLD3DS
360p@24fps for NEW3DS(software decoding)
480p@30fps for NEW3DS(hardware decoding)

I have that but my programs dont let me do 144p they go by pixel rates i think

240x144

240x320

480x640

800x600 iirc is the highest res on the 3ds

16:9 or 16:10

Unless it's displaying in 3D, I really have no idea why anyone would want to watch videos on their 3DS. Especially when even most peoples phone have a bigger screen. To each their own, just saying I don't personally see the point. Why not just watch it on a bigger device, or at least on one where you can copy practically any video file out there to it, and it will just play.

Because its useful when you have no wifi

most video services require Wi-Fi or data so when you don't have that you can use a 3ds

What I'm saying is, instead of going through the work to put a low quality video on a low quality small ass screen... why not just watch the original quality files on a superior device without the hassle? Why watch it on a DS in extremely craptastic 144p, 360p, or 480p - when you could watch the original higher quality file on your phone, laptop, tv, etc. with no wifi needed whatsoever. It all just seems pointless to watch videos on the DSs small screen and in terrible resolution when other much better and simpler options are readily available.

But if you're downloading an mp4, use your smartphone....no conversion needed, MX player or vlc

See back in the nds and gba days, smartphones and YouTube wasn't a thing, so having an r4 with moonshell made sense, portable game and media device, pretty much was an ipod touch before the ipod touch

tablets and smartphones killed a chunk of the homebrew scene, because, money

Maybe because it would be a pain in the ass to bring a laptop onto a car trip or some other places

1) I did mention other devices. Could be a phone or tablet.

2) Order of the videos? You're not making much sense again.
