ROM Hack Question JKSV won't load ACNH save files from before update

I've been having issues with this switch since the ACNH update yesterday - I've finally got it restored and working (I have to fully factory reset the switch and sd and start fresh) now JKSV will not load my ACNH saves. Every time I try JKSV freezes right before it finishes and when I back out of the app and go into the game it's as if there is no save data at all. I've seen others have this issue but I haven't seen a resolution for it.
